I have a slight dislike with everyone saying how impossible it is for meredith to die. She IS dead currently, people! It's not impossible. It's already happened, that's the thing.
As for this episode, I found it predictable... but, I don't know. Not predictable enough to the point where it wasn't exciting anymore, because It was. It was exciting, it still is.
I JUST got what BANG is. Burke and Yang. DUH! >>; Excuse my being slow. But, anyway. Much to say about this episode for some reason. What happened to Denny? No, I know he's dead. I've been following ever since last year, oddly enough. I never did start at the exact season beginning. But what's going to happen? I don't really know how to even phrase it properly, what I'm trying to ask. Denny's dead, but when Meredith comes back, what does she say to Izzie? And congratulations to Izzie for officially coming off probation. =) That was a happy moment, for everyone who's been following I think.

So the rumours say that two people will die but only one death will be permanent?
How about this, then...?
I think that Ellis goes into surgery, as planned, and dies. And she ends up in the little dreamworld that Meredith found herself in - and Meredith decides she does not want to spend the afterlife with her mother and come hell or high water, she's going to live. And she wakes up and knows her mother is dead before people can tell her. Everyone will be like, woah...
That would be cool.
Because, seriously, they can't kill her off. It's impossible, anyway, as Ellen has signed a contract for another three seasons, and I doubt she'd sign a contract for narration/voiceover only. She's becoming a household name, now, and her career is finally taking off. She's not going to give that up to be a voiceover...

I do not want mer to officially die....i mean a part of me would die with her.
But im just wondering why they did this whole thing in the first place....do they like scaring us out of our wits..do they like making us cry.. Seriously? Seriously!
Everybody i talk to thinks the will revive her... and that makes me smile....but i'm still... idk...i think there is a reason for doing this to her..maybe i'm overreacting... maybe the reason will be that mer nd derek will realize they're undying love...it mite be a start of a new relationship with mark and derek...even addison now understands dereks love for mer... mayb they had mer "die" so that she can tell izzie she saw denny...

i was reading a spoiler website and it said there is lik27 episodes fro this season...now lets go back to reality....how could we possibly golike 11 more episodes without Meredith...what would they be about cause for all i kno 11 episodes revoliving arounf dead meredith doesnt sound that great to me. She'll live..and if she doesnt the show will be different, many fans wont watch...i wouldnt but hey thats just me. McDreamy needs her, Christina Needs her, Izzie needs her, george needs her..and alex..well he seems undesided..
Some many love lifes would be changed in the show and cut shonda some slack here in order to get people to watch you have to make them sick, and cry their hearts out. Its a win or lose situation...whatever happens, just happens we all have to wait a week and come on here to complain cuz shes gone or celebrate because they saved her.

Through MANY speculations that I have read I have come to this conclusion.
In all reality if they killed Mereidth off they would lose ratings. Serious ratings. They wouldn't do that. The want people to WATCH the show...not swear off of it because they killed off a main character. And the whole killing her off to do the narraiton only is way to friggin much like Desperate Housewives. I do have SOME faith in ABC to come up with different storylines for their shows.
The guy that played Denny is coming back as another character. I don't really understand the motive for this since well...in reality it would send Issy into the pysch ward to hang with the people in the white jackets, if you catch my drift. And because they had the actor return as Denny in Meredith's dead-thinger. I have no idea where they'll be going with that one.
Also I watched an interveiw with the actress that plays Issy and she said that not one but TWO people are going to die before the end of the next episo

While my husband and I were watching we were coming up with new names for the show just in case Meredith is killed off the show...and the one we liked the best is "McDreamy Anatomy. Also, maybe Meredith has been talking to us this whole time from the beyond. This is the way Desperate Housewives is, but we knew from the beginning that the person talking was already dead. Would be intereseting how they place this off.

Well, when Izzie cut the wire, I thought, well, this is so thrilling, Shonda cannot do any better in future, whats she gonna do in the 3rd season? Well, I was sooo wrong! I almost had a heart attack watching this ep. I just keep on assuring myself, she cannot die, can she?
It makes me think she cant, cos shes the leading character, right, but on the other hand, what about all that stuff about shonda saying someone will die, and that something that nobody expects will happen? Im confused! But as it has been said here, I dont wanna watch this show without Meredith. Cos it just wont be my favorite show anymore cos it cant be without my favorite character… Meredith wake up, even if it wouldnt be possible in real life, in this stage of my love for GA, I just dont care!!!!

Yeah, of course she is coimg back! I have always heard the writers say in their podcasts that all of the things that they show happen on GA are actual cases that have researched and found out about. So yeah, what has happened to Meredith is real. I also remember on the podcast something that Shonda says...whatever happens with Mer/Der in these (3) episodes will determine the direction that this couple will go in...Which I am hoping for The best Scenario...A Marriage Proposal! Remember Derreck asking Mer about marriage at the crash scene? I think that really meant something! So yeah, that aren't killing off a main character! Mer will be back and her and Derreck will live happily ever after!!!!!!! Remember Der telling Mer that in the happily ever after the guy is always there??? I think that means something too!!!!!!

IT IS NOT UNBELIEVABLE IF SHE COMES BACK!!!!!
People suffering from Stage 3 hypothermia (under 90 degree body temp) typically undergo cardiac arrest and possible clinical death, which is what she had. It is perfectly normal for a person w/ this type of condition to come back and be completely normal, as was said above by Jessie. The low body temp prevents injury. Also, she's not dead until she's warm, it's a rule in medicine.
DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU TALK CRAP ABOUT THE SHOW/ WRITERS.-- Directed at "thewatcher"
A/w, I think she's gonna come back. Like I said, what she is experiencing is completely normal. It's not unheard of to have an out of body expericence when you are on the line of life and death like she is. They just have to warm her up fast, keep the epi going, and hope for the best.

i thought it was a great episode except for one thing. the end where merideth realizes she "dead". like it was fine with the bomb squad guy because they went through kinda the same thing( she almost dided in the first big superbowl episode but he blew up instead as he carried the bomb off) but denny doesnt really have anything to do with it they should have just left him out of it. and i really hope its not a whole solve the problem in your dream before u can wake up cus thats been done way too many times. anyways on another note i dont really know if shes dead or alive we know this show to always have huge shocks so who knows. but i was thinking an interesting way to bring her back to life and still have someone die would have to do with her mom maybe becoming lucid and being able to perform an operation before her heart fails or something i dunno its a strech but who knows. well i cant wait to find out!

How the hell will this show go on if Meredith dies! I am still in shock. It was nice to see the real emotion in Derek and how much he is heart broken right now. Also, it always seems to take a crisis to bring everyone together. On a lighter note I am finally happy that the little girl found her mom. And all I have to say that the guy who knocked Meredith into the water better be greatful or there needs to be a scene where Derek kicks his ass! I know thats mean, but hey it is Hollywood and they are merely paid actors who get paid for their hard work and emotions to hook us in every Thursday night. Bravo to Grey's Anatomy for an awesome episode. So will the show change its name if Meredith dies? And what was with the previews and this whole "devestating conclusion? Meredith dieing is like thinking the person who looks the most guilty is the real murderer and then in the end you know you were wrong because that was the easiest answer.

Whoa! First things first... GREAT EPISODE! I am pretty sure one of two things will happen: 1) she lives and 2) she dies. I am pretty sure that number one is going to happen. Actually it is more of hoping. With that being said it is probably going to be Derek who saves her... again. Either in some indirect way (i.e. talking to her; kissing her, in that whole Snow White thing, which is foreshadowed in the first episode when he says he is her "knight in shining whatever.") The second, less desirable option is two. If she dies, then she will still be a part of the show in the whole narration. You know looking down on the happenings at our dear Seattle Grace. But it would be too cliche for Ms. Shonda Rhymes. So yup. The whole Burktina thing is probably not going to happen. Guess we will have to wait and see!

And, well, there you have it.
She died.
Unless, of course, she's having a near-death experience. I read that patients who've suffered from hypothermia (I heard Richard saying that's what was wrong with her, I think) sometimes go under cardiac arrest, then later recover. Apparently because their low temps prevents cellular damage, or something. They're not dead until they're warm, and Richard mentioned she was still cold, so, yeah. We'll see.
But if she does die, it'll suck. There's still so much of her story left untold. (Although, I'd still like to see how everyone would react to a death among their own.) Plus, that scene with Denny and Dylan was TOTALLY cool. They could be the Ghosts of Seattle Washington's Hospital. Yeah, that would be cool. Kinda Twilight Zone-y.
