Elliott Yamin Album Sales Set Record

at .

With his debut album, American Idol second runner-up Elliott Yamin broke the soundscan record for the highest selling debut ever on an independent label.

Yamin's record sold over 90,000 copies in its first week. To put this in perspective, he sold about 20,000 more than Kellie Pickler did during her first week, and about 15k fewer than runner-up Katharine McPhee.

Congrats, Elliott!
