Chyler Leigh Promoted to Cast Member
TV Guide reports today that the Grey's Anatomy brain trust has officially promoted Chyler Leigh (a.k.a. Mer's half-sister, Lexie Grey) to a series regular.
An ABC Studios rep confirmed the move, stating that Chyler Leigh is signed for at least 13 episodes at the present time.
The news confirms our story from last week about Leigh possibly joining the cast.
It also comes in spite of a report that Grey's test audiences chewed up and spit out the Lexie character during a recent focus group.
Her flirtation with Derek Shepherd - one of only two scenes featuring Lexie Grey thus far - didn't help.
In any case, Chyler Leigh appears to be here to stay.
In related news, the spin-off, Private Practice, also added a new star in KaDee Strickland (The Wedding Bells) to play the administrator of Oceanside Wellness Center. She too will be a series regular.

Hey. I don't know who you are but your opinion is absolutely awesome! I feel the same exact way. Lexie needs to vanish into thin air... get killed or something and just leave. She's horrible. Everyone clearly wants to see Derek and Meredith together forever... MARRIED! They are so perfect. I get so wrapped up in the show that I feel what the charatcers are feeling. I cry when Meredith cries or when Derek just doesn't kiss Meredith when all she needs is to be hugged and kissed. Grey's Anatomy is the perfect romance story... when it's romantic, not when Derek and Meredith are fighting or not together. I wish I could just kiss Derek all day long but when he hurts Meredith I just want to cry with Meredith and give her a long, big hug and tell her it will be ok... then go yell at Derek, and he would be pretty hard for me to yell at with his dreamy eyes and pouty lips and all together GREAT looks. Grey's Anatomy is absolutely awesome but now it is completely falling apart! Isaiah Washing was fired for a freakin dumb reason and Kate Walsh is leaving. Lexie Grey can't take Derek from Meredith... that would be a disaster and I would cry. Meredith and Derek belong together everyone knows that. George and Izzie are awesome together but George is married to Callie. The thing I am most worried about it seeing Derek and Lexie together... but after the eppisode where Burke ended the relationship with Christina... I have a feeling that George will have an affair with Lexie Grey. I'm so ready for season 4! and season 3 needs to hurry up and come out on DVD!

Hi there loyal merder fans.
I still cant believe that they will go ahead and make lexie a series regular, are they not reading what we are saying!!!!!.
I said it before and im saying it again.
Mclexiebith will never grow on me, I realy dont know what Shonda is up to but one thins is for sure, she will never have der with any onel else that mer without creating a riot.
I will never like lexie, and I agree with she does look like a slut in that picture.
GA is my like an addiction, but since Lexie cam into the story I have to say, the addiction is slowly fading.
PLEASE, PLEASE SHONDA, GIVE US SOME SORT OF HINT THAT YOU WILL NOT GET DER AND LEXIE TOGETHER!

Hmm, after reading these comments or rather complains, i am thinking Shonda is under alot of pressure of trying not to disappoint fans anymore. I say goodluck Shonda you need that and now start fixing what you burned in the first place. Oh and can we pls!!!!!! get some pictures of what is happening on set right now?

Maybe Lexie will catch something from one of the patient's and die and Thatcher will be so heart broken he will jump off a bridge. Molly and Laura can go live on an oversea's Army base somewhere. Meredith can then get on with her life. Her and Derek can be happy plus she will have her friend's. That's all the family she needs.
