Friday Night Lights Spoiler: Lyla's Reconciliation

at .

With the return of Friday Night Lights less than three weeks away, various fan sites and news sources alike have been quick to post spoilers and speculation about what fans can expect to see in the sophomore season.

One interesting rumor involves the troubled Lyla Garrity (Minka Kelly) and her possible reconciliation with one of the other principal characters on the show - as well as her renewed interest in her Christian faith.

However, a lot remains up in the air. There's the spoiler we reported earlier (she could be doing a lot more than reconciling, we hear), and fans hoping for Lyla to get back together with Jason (Scott Porter) may end up disappointed.

Tim and Lyla Reconciling?

There are, however, reports that Lyla Garrity and Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) will repair their fractured friendship with the help of the church.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the struggling Lyla Garrity will soon join an evangelical church and Tim, whose main interests are football and partying, will be attending at least one of the services with Lyla.

A source close to the show told the Tribune that while viewers will have to wait and see if Lyla and Tim become close again, it is certain that Lyla helps Tim "find God, at least for a moment in time."

During the summer press tour, Friday Night Lights producer Jason Katims explained the rationale behind Lyla Garrity's faith.

"She's been through so much. She's seeking answers. She just found this thing that makes a lot of sense to her and has given her some direction," Katims said. "She felt really lost and betrayed by her father and her family's been torn asunder, and all this stuff."

Friday Night Lights Quotes

"When Jason Street went down the first game of the season, everybody wrote us off. Everybody. And yet here we are at the championship game. Forty thousand people out there have also written us off. But there are a few out there who still believe in you."

Eric Taylor

We will all at some time in our lives, fall. Life is so very fragile, we are all vulnerable, and we will all at some point in our lives, fall, we will all fall.
We must carry this in our hearts, that what we have is special, that it can be taken from us, and that when it is taken from us, we will be tested. We will be tested to our very souls. We will all be tested.
It is these times, it is this pain, that allows us to look inside ourselves.

Eric Taylor
