David Hernandez: The Nude Stripper Past

by at . Comments

For the record, if a female American Idol contestant had a stripping past, she'd be booted from the show in no time.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see what happens with David Hernandez.

It's now been confirmed that this season seven semifinalist worked as a dancer at at Dick's Cabaret, appearing fully nude and giving lap dances to the club's "mostly male" clientele, the Associated Press reports.

"He had the look and the type that people like, so he made pretty good money here," club manager Gordy Bryan said.

Hernandez reportedly worked there for three years until last September. Do you think this should disqualify him from the show?

No, I do not think he should be disqualified for what he has done prior to or outside of "American Idol." He is not entered into Mr. America. What he does outside of the show is really nobody's business. Don't we all get a chance to seize the opportunity when we see it, to make our dreams come true? How many times does the chance to not only audition but then be selected as a finalist to go to Hollywood and as if that wasn't enough, you then are one of the final 12! Leave them man alone. Don't we all have a few skeletons in our own closets? David has a wonderful voice and a real chance of making it to the final two! Instead of bringing up what he's done in the past, why don't we/they focus on his gorgeous voice and stage presence and before bringing up his past, take a look at your own past or present or both. If you can honestly say that you have a spotless page record, that's wonderful. David's blessed with good looks and a great body and he saw and opportunity to cash in on it. It's almost obscene the amount of money that can be made dancing like David did. We should all be so lucky. Lastly, his dancing has absolutely NOTHING to do with his singing. If anything, he has an advantage thanks to the dancing he has a great stage presence. So just get off his back and focus on his singing. Period. End of conversation.
