Brianne Moncrief is the New Colby Chandler

Brianne MoncriefAs reported early today, the role of Colby Chandler of All My Children no longer belongs to Ambyr Childers.

The actress that has has played Adam's (David Canary) once-spoiled-now-saintly daughter since 2006 is leaving - and the role has already been recast.

Starting May 7, 25-year-old newcomer Brianne Moncrief takes over. Not much is known about this graduate of Fordham University's performing-arts program, but Brianne has a lot of stage credits and a Sopranos episode to her name.

We're excited to see how she does in the role, though we'll miss Childers and wish her the best of luck.

New Colby is okay but I miss the old one so much!!!

I love the new Colby!! She's cuter and more believable than the old Colby. Sorry, Ambyr.

Brianne kicks some serious but! The last Colby was steadfast, reserved, and stuck up. This new character is ready to rock the show and make it more rockous. The show needs a younger, intense element>

I like the new young actress....great change writers!!! She reminds me of a young Meg Ryan. I like the character Colby, so I'm glad they kept the role rather than writing the character out of the show. I remember people not liking Childers when she came on, so I bet people grow to love Brianne.

Awful! that is the only word that can be used to describe the new colby chandler! she has no talent! a lot of actors have left the show in the past year and a lot of recasts have been made, but this recast was the worst! bring back Ambyr Childers!

Amnyr was doing a fantastic job! Brianne seems to have to force her lines out and it is almost painful to watch her. I first saw her and said give her a chance, but the unemotional way she reacts to Jacob Young and Cornelius Smith, Jr was a big dissapointment to AMC fans everywhere. Let us hope that this travisty in actor switching changes soon.

Some things need change, but not Colby - Ambyr has done a fantastic job in the role. She is a talented actress and replacing her was not necessary, she really grew into the role - she went from a spoiled brat to a kind compassionate person. I think the powers that be need to reexamine what the have done - guess I'll get through with watching the soaps alot faster because I will definitely be fast forwarding through any scene with her in it. Sometimes you just know when someone can eventually fit the role and you give them a chance - but in this case Ambyr cannot be replaced!!

Colby was great (Ambyr Childers) why did you ever recast such a fantastic actor. Everyone has grown to love her. I think you are making a huge mistate. You keep changing character roles. I'm getting tired of your changes.... Other channels are starting to look better.

Grr it is so confusing when they switch characters im like wait whos that. I like the old babe better and the old colby they switched to people with too soft of voices grrr

I personally hate to see her go; I was just beginning to enjoy her portrayl and honestly I liked what I saw between her and the actor playing Frankie (sorry I do not know his name and I am not good with retaining names anyway:)). Even though the age difference (just because she is a teenie bopper) and the life experience concerned me those two actors chemistry I think really worked on screen; to me they complimented the other.

It is hard to adjust to another actor when you associated one with a particular character and I will give the new lady a chance to get into her role and make it her own.
