people that think this show is inappropriate are idiots. its perfectly fine, there is no nudity and stuff and most people who watch it know about sex so its fine. parents and adults worry to much.

ps. i think that the blair one is not photoshopped!!!!

This show does have some bad stuff in it, but that's why parents just need to control their kids a little more. It's not the CWs fault you can't keep them from watching shows they're not supposed to! It's called BLOCKING channels. Kids will see all of this kind of stuff in movies, and maybe even in school. So whats the point of cancelling it??

The members of the PTC aren't very good mothers/fathers/gaurdians [it would have been so much easier for me to have just typed PARENTS!] in my opinion, I mean they'd rather spend time with bunch of money old hags and stack of TV guides, than spend quality time with their kids, obv. if they're doing they're job right as parents they wouldn't have to worry about the show.

And skins is like sex and the city for teens IMHO!

  4. Sofia

I couldn't agree more with Holly. I'm from the UK too, and Skins is ALOT worse, so the GG ads are absoultely fine!

I see nothing wrong with the photos; the actual show contents can't be that racy if it has an 8'oclock timeslot. I'm new to the show, having only watched the second half of Monday nights rerun and than a few episodes I found online. Still trying to decided if I want to tune in come September (the ads certainly don't hurt, I am in my 20s and for these H.S. characters to have grown up issues makes it more relateable for me)

I don't care what the critics are saying, Gossip Girl is a good show, and ya, the kids have sex in it, but kids also have sex in real life and the story lines are much easier to believe than The OC and One Tree Hill, and I'm not saying I don't love those shows too, because I do. I can't wait for the next season of Gossip Girl, they have a fantastic and exhilarating cast who are very talented

If these parents think that the show is not a good influence to their kids then it is their problem to stop them from watching it. Just last week, there is this mom in our office who is lambasting these bratty socialites in Hollywood ( no need to name names ) because she said that her 8 year old kid loves them and she fears that her kid might grow up to be like her. So being me, always the anti-climax bitch in the office, told her that it will be her fault if her kid turns out to be a bratty bitch. I mean, i have a 4-year old niece how adores, praises, loves Mean Girls esp the Jingle Bell Rock scene and she surely loves Lindsay Lohan. Im a loving aunt so I can't tell her that Linday has been a mean girl in real life. Instead, I support her I let her watch Parent Trap while making sure that she keeps her values. As her 24 year old guardian, I will not allow any shows or movies influence her. In this world of superficial, you can't stop kids to watch movies and shows esp if the cast are

Like someone said, in England we have this show called Skins. It is so much worse. Everybody openly does drugs and masturbates, they are always naked, and one time they showed two people having full on sex! Genitals and orgasms EVERYWHERE! (No, its not porn.)

Gossip Girl is nowhere near as bad! The Parents Television Council all need to get lives and stop being so protective. It's not like we havent seen it all before and we are all gunna see it in the future! They need to LIGHTEN UP!

Glad I got that off my chest. Phuuuuuw. lol

Quite personally I think the Parents Television Council should shut up and worry about their own kids, not everyone else's.

If they don't want their own kids watching it, that's fine. But, it is each individual child's parents' choice to monitor what their kid watches or not.

And Gossip Girl is definitely no where near as bad as some shows out there.

And I too just noticed they edited Blair's swimsuit off in that picture.

I like that the promos seem to be embracing the somewhat bad criticism and turning into a "I don't care, this is what makes the show good" kind of thing.

You go CW! lol Keep that show well written and nasty ;]

It's that cougar lady from season 2 the one who's married and is having a affair with nate..

  11. lacey

who's sitting on the couch with nate?

  12. iheartgg

First off they Edit too wear Blairs swim suit is gone. Sadly thats not Dan with Serena its that Peter guy. Gossip Girl isnt all about sex yes it talks about it but dosent every show? Parents should be watching what their kids watch and making sure they dont watch shows like this.

The CW has always been on of my favorite networks to watch ever since it was the WB and Dawson's creek and Roswell were on. I am a huge fan of One Tree Hill and as someone said above i don't see any difference between what happens on that show and GG. I have the entire book series and have been reading it since 2004. I don't get a chance to watch the series as much as i like but when i do i always make sure to catch a few episodes here or there. yes it can be risque, but so can almost every show on prime time television which is why they're on at that time (when younger ones should be in bed) The only thing that makes this show any different is that is foucses on rich kids and the whole gossip mill but that's what makes it a hit if not it would just be another tv show. That's JMO though.

You know, they altered the photo of the swimming pool, to remove B's bikini:

I totally agree with lace-mace101.. i think that parents should not blame the Gossip Girl for being to "racy" for children, they should be taking control of their own parenting and not allow their children to watch this show, or set up parental locks. This show is meant for young adults mature enough to watch it, and younger children shouldn't be watching it in the first place.

  16. cxob

I really like the ads, actually.
There are really clever, and make the show stand out.

  17. Kellie

I'm from the UK and I agree that skins a BILLION times worse than gossip girl, I personally like the adds, even though they focus on sex on the show that isn't there, PTC was really over reacting with the whole thing, she doesn't focus on sex or drugs, but they are in the show, much like they are in real life.

  18. lace-mace101

It wouldn't let me post the pics...sorry..

    go to:http://cw11.trb.com/news/wpix-gg-season2ads-pg,0,709322.photogallery?index=1

First of all Gossip Girl isn't any different from One Tree Hill or The O.C. What I mean is that they all have the issue of sex in it and they all are probably not meant for kids like 8 years old to watch. See the Parents Television Council is trying to eliminate the problem of younger kids watching the show by taking it off the air when the main problem is right at home because the parents are letting them watch it. I actually think however that the ad's are really sexy, and that sometimes is what draws in other people to watch the show...By the way I really hope that is Dan kissing serena in the picture, if not im going to flip.

  21. Holly;

I'm from the UK, and I'm not joking when I say there is a show for teens that is ten times more rude than Gossip Girl is, called Skins. They show more of what's happening during umm...intercourse and talk about sex practically all the time.
I don't really find Gossip Girl rude at all, personally.

    xx

Gossip Girl is not rude and i don't no y people think so. I do not live in america so i haven't seen the posters or anything but i think the Parents Television Council is being stupid saying all this!
