It cant be Derek in the stretcher. If you pause the video in just the right spot you can see Derek standing beside the chief when he says "We are going to save this man's life" Look it up on youtube. There's actually a video with both promos and at the end they show the paused shot of Derek next to the chief.

OMG!!! I knew I should not have watched those promo's, but I was so drawn into everyone's post about them.
I have enough hype of my own, I sure don't need Shonda pushing my buttons right about now. I barely slept last nite. Looks like season 5 opener is going to be a WORLD WIND!!!
I have been hopeful and happy since season 4 finale, and I'm trying here to kept my wits about me and my feet on the ground. But, right about now I just want to scream and drink plenty of liquor. But, I'm saving the drinking till Sept 25th Just in case Shonda really does screw us. Cause if these scenes are NOT DREAMS I'll be dead drunk by the time the two hour show ends!!!
Right about now I have NO room for DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

I think the chief was yelling at George, 'cause he got to take his intern test again. Derek is not hurt, it's probably the new military doctor. Rose is not pregnant 'cause Shonda said so.
Does anyone else think that the whole glass/ice thing falling down is weird...why would Christina (if it is her) be lying on the floor in the first place. And everyone who thinks she's fine 'cause later in the promo she's sitting up, might like to know that it may not be in the right order ;)

I hope this thing about Derek almost dying is a joke... I mean, are they going to have them all get critically injured and almost die? First Christina, then Burke, then Meredith, not to forget Bailey's husband... Isn't this a bit of an exaggeration? What about some realism? Life isn't like this, and let's be grateful for it!
I'm a great fan, but really guys, get down to work and think of something to make us engrossed without slaying off the whole cast!

It is definitely Derek in that neck brace. But I like the suggestion that it is Meredith dreaming that it happens. We've already seen pictures of MerDer together in the TV guide layout, as well as Derek in the face of the new doctor. So even if it isn't Meredith dreaming, it must not be that serious because Derek is already in following episodes.

This was a very clever technique employed by ABC. They implemented every worst fear of those invested in watching this tv show.
An episode: "Dream a Little Dream" also could be named "Grey's Anatomy Viewers' Nightmares Acted Out"
Nightmare 1: Rose is pregnant. How many of the viewers last season who had been watching the spoilers online feared that she would get pregnant after that one encounter of sleeping with Shepherd? Pretty much everyone. The fact that the writers included it in a spoof dream sequence just shows that they were listening and decided to play a joke on the viewers.
PS. I bet this is Shepherd dreaming about this incidence.
Nightmare 2: Shepherd gets injured before Mere and he can live happily ever after. The monkey wrench that everyone feared would happen in the name of soap operas.
This is probably Meredith's dream.
Nightmare 3: Christina is hit by by a flying icicle and Meredith is talking about getting married/ Christina is yelling at her.

I´m going to say one thing. THANK GOD she`s not pregnant.
I was going crazy here i am litterly shaking.
when I sa the promo I was in school and all my friends sad to me whay are you crieing but i kudent hellp my self I was so mad becus I never liked that bitch I dont even whant to say her name and i really really dont like her naw.
I was so glad when mer der finally got back together and me and my freind sad that this sesone was going do be the best, but naw i dont now becus if it turns out that the fucking bich is pregnant I am going to throw somthing at the TV and I will stop watching greys anatomy after three years and it`s going to be so hart becus I looooooooove greys anatomy ( merdith and derek) will all my heart

I Really thinks that the chief is yelling at mer: "you're here because i allowed it" and he's referring to the test that he let her take again. mabye she made him angry again and he just had enough.
another thing, look at the way Cristina is holding her stomach when she is talking to Mer.
I believe It's gonna be Okey, maybe it will take some time, but rvery thing is gonna be okey.

It is derek but as i said before. It is part of a dream. As the creator Shonda Rhimes said that he wouldn't be hurt or in any accidents....
The episode is called "Dream a little dream of..." its pretty safe to say that many things are part of dreams in what was shown in the promo.

She's not pregnant. It's already been confirmed by E!Online. Also, Rose (Lauren Stamile) is on her last appearance on the show. The season premiere is her last episode. So, don't worry rose isn't pregnant...

Yeah, i know. Everyone was worried about seeing Derek hurt and Meredith screaming. But as Shonda Rhimes said nothing would happen to Derek, as in he wouldn't be hurt or in an accident, and Meredith and Derek would be together and experience a real relationship together....
Derek will be fine! As i said before... the episode is called, "dream a little dream of..."
So the images we saw of Derek are most likely a dream.
Don't worry 'Freaked Out!!!!' he will be fine and Meredith will be fine.

Yey another truth finder :) thank you 'Facial' for helping me and others to prove to freaked out fans around the globe that....
Pretty much all the bad stuff we saw on the promo won't actually happen.. or isn't true.
Eg. Rose being pregnant. LIE! , Meredith screaming nooooo! at Derek being hurt... is part of a nightmare.
And the episode title being 'Dream a little dream of...' is a pretty good indication of the fantastic premiere to come :)
We were all fooled and freaked out by the psychotic promo we all saw. I for one was not alone in crying after seeing it, and feeling sick to the stomach at what i saw.
Hence, why i was in search for THE TRUTH!

Well, I wrote earlier, but I just wanted to let everyone know that on E.com (or google grey's anatomy and it comes up under news results) it says that Rose is lying about the pregnancy. The person who wrote it went on set and supposidly, it's all false according to the cast members and some of the writers. NOT ONLY IS THIS GOOD NEWS, THERE'S SOME EVEN BETTER NEWS!!! According to the article, the season premiere is Rose's last episode!!! :)

yeah they did sleep together. in... episode 15 it think??? might be wrong about the episode but yeah. They did sleep together. then after, Derek went back to the hospital to see Meredith and gave the champagne speech n such.
Derek said to Mark " i was thinking about meredith the whole time" when he was having sex with Rose.
MWUAHAHAHAH the plant is only in the season premiere.... and no more episodes after that so yeah.
Rest easy people. All will be fine. :)

the more that i think about it and the more comments from huge greys fans [like me!] i read, i am beginning to believe [and hope!] that it all seems so horrible that it COULD be a dream [or i mean a nightmare!] for meredith! i really really reallllllllyyyyyyyyy hope it is!! OMG this isssssss soooo exciting. I CANNOT WAIT FOR 23 more DAYSSSS!!!
