According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Schwahn is in talks to write the script for the CW’s upcoming Melrose Place spin-off.
The One Tree Hill creator signed a two-year contract with the network in early October. However, it does not kick in until June. Until then, he will be working exclusively for Warner Brothers TV, where he runs One Tree Hill.
Such an arrangement makes the Melrose Place assignment a bit tricky, as Schwahn's deal with WBTV calls for him to continue as executive producer and showrunner on One Tree Hill if the series is picked up for a seventh season.
We'll have more on this development as news breaks.
