The rumors are getting closer and closer to reality:
Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that a Melrose Place spin-off is on the way.
Smallville producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer have been hired as show-runners for the series, which will reportedly focus on the following new characters:
- David Patterson: He's Melrose Place royalty; the now-grown son of the original Jake Hanson.
- Ella Flynn: David's omnisexual, occasional lover; a PR whiz with a sharp tongue.
- Jonah Miller: A Kevin Smith wannabe; obsessed with movies.
- Riley Richmond: Sweet schoolteacher fiancee of Jonah; falls in love with Hollywood lifestyle.
- Auggie Kirkpatrick: A hunky hippie; recovering alcoholic that believes in the best in people.
- Lauren Bishop: Sraight-arrow medical student falls on hard times; trades sexual favors for financial favors.
- Violet Foster: Small-town teen; your basic sex kitten.
