Sure Ugly Betty is going on a long hiatus, but that's not stopping the producers from casting new actors.  The newest actress to join Ugly Betty is veteran actress Christine Baranski.

According to Ausiello Files, Baranski will be joining Betty as the high society mother of Betty's new potential love interest, Matt (guest star Daniel Eric Gold).  In Matt's upcoming episode, which airs February 19th, Betty and Matt are on a YETI assignment to follow each other at their respective jobs.

Sounds like things will definitely work out will between the two because Baranski has been signed on for a three episode arc beginning around mid-March, just about the time ABC is putting the show on hold.
