Series Creator Bids Goodbye to Ugly Betty

When all was said and done on Ugly Betty last night, our favorite magazine editor chose... nobody.

She picked up, moved to London... and ran into Daniel. Dinner was planned between the pair, but viewers were left in the dark about how it ended.

Why did series creator Silvio Horta go this route? How does he feel now that it's all over? He went into detail about the show in an interview with TV Guide:

On Betty and Daniel's future: They've been there for each other for the entire course of the series and to end with that possibility  and what I think you end with is a possibility - with anyone but Daniel seemed off. Are they together after that? I don't even want to say. I have my version in my head of what happens after she walks away from him, but I think everyone can have their own interpretation.

A Finale Shot

On casting Bryan Batt: I'm just a huge fan of his from Mad Men; he's a terrific actor. That was one story line that some people were like, "Do we need to reopen that?" and for me, it was way overdue. I wanted to answer that one question. It was egregiously left open.

On the soft side of Wilhelmina: Wilhelmina will always be Wilhelmina, but over the course of the series there have been times when we've seen a lot of that softer side. But I think on the show, as in real life, people are what they are. If you were to imagine these characters beyond the series, she's not going to become a saint.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE SERIES FINALE?

Ugly Betty Series Finale Review: "Hello Goodbye"

We had our box of tissues ready for this very last installment of one our favorite shows - Ugly Betty. Like they say, all good things must come to an end, and yes, Betty is in fact history!

Good Bye Halston?

Overall, "Hello Goodbye" did wrap up each of our beloved characters lives in a nice pretty bow, but how bummed were you that there wasn't even a kiss between Daniel and Betty!? They literally waited until the last 40 seconds to show him go to London for her!

At least we can say we were right about that!

But, C'Mon! We wanted MORE! We wanted the dramatically romantic ending where Daniel sweeps Betty off of her feet professing his love to her in front of all her new British friends and giving her a kiss that gives hope to all the ugly Betties of the world that you can get the dream guy. That would have made the show.

Although, we do have to say it was much more of a realistic ending. Especially since Betty would/could not believe that Daniel had feelings for her. It was funny to see her look at Claire with such surprise. Hello Blondie! Get with the program, right?!

We know we should have probably expected it, but we were happily surprised by Connor's return. He really loves Wilhelmina and the spoilers were right - Wilhelmina did have the best ending. She got everything she always longed for - love and being the main editor of Mode. Hopefully, with all the happiness this ending brought her, she will be a nicer boss - we doubt it, but here's to hope!

The one person we feel badly for is Ignacio. The show ended with him all alone in his house. He tells his daughters that he wants them to be happy and to live their lives, but we know that he will be quite lonely. It had to be a difficult choice Hilda made about moving. On one end you don't want to leave your father that raised and let you take shelter at his home for so long, but on the other end, it was time for Hilda to start her own family with Justin and Bobby. When you are a parent, it must be the most difficult thing to let your children spread their wings and fly away. Hopefully, Ignacio will be okay!

Hug it Out Biaches!

Both Amanda and Marc ended finding the love that they always craved - Amanda being the love of a father and Marc allowing himself to actually romantically care for someone. These two really brought tears of happiness to our eyes!

What happened with Tyler? We know he was a rather new character to the show, but he still was Claire's son - who shot Wilhelmina! There was no resolution between him and Claire. We think that was another loose end the writers decided to leave out that needed to be resolved. What do you think?

All in all we will severely miss Ugly Betty. Perhaps one day they will make a special about Betty in London or something. We hate that after all these years of waiting to see Daniel and Betty get together - all we get is a conversation about dinner!

What did you think of the series finale? Did it live up to everything you hoped it to be? Were you happy with how Daniel and Betty semi got together? Leave your comments below!

Ugly Betty Sneak Peak: "Hello Goodbye"

This is your last chance to watch a new episode of Ugly Betty ever! Tune in Wednesday night to see how it all goes down.

Producer Sheila Lawrence was quoted saying: "Every character ends up in a good place — this is Ugly Betty after all. Amanda has a question answered that's been looming since Season 2, Justin has a dream come true, and Wilhelmina quite possibly has the happiest ending of all."

So it looks like Wilhelmina is not dead! Thank goodness!

Let the Good Times Roll

Also, we learn that Betty is reluctant to tell Daniel about her future. Meanwhile Justin and Bobby go searching for a new place to live and Hilda is not too happy about it. And poor Marc feels like he is destined to be alone forever.

Don't forget to tune in this Wednesday night at 10pm on ABC to say good-bye to our beloved Ugly Betty!

Ugly Betty Review: "The Past Presents the Future"

With only one more episode left - ever! - Ugly Betty is doing a great job wrapping up all the loose ends.

Each minute of "The Past Presents the Future" either had us laughing, smiling, holding our breaths, or crying.

First off - if you haven't watched it - Go watch it NOW!

Secondly - Yay!!! We KNEW Daniel had feelings for Betty all along!

Our only one disappointment would be why it took him so long to figure it out - and how come Betty doesn't realize it yet?!

Daniel and Betty dance...

Our hearts just melted into a puddle of sap when Daniel looked over at Betty when Hilda was giving her speech:

Hilda: That's love right - when you know somebody better than they do and you would do anything in the world to protect them. | permalink

If Betty looked over at Daniel - at the same time - that would have made it perfect! Oh well, I guess we will just have to wait until next week when Daniel rushes to London to proclaim his love for her (Very SATC, but we don't care! We love it!!!).

Are YOU excited that Daniel has feelings for Betty? Do you think they will end up together?!

How great is Marc? (And how great was his hair at the wedding!) He really came through for the entire Suarez family this week. It would have been a s**t storm if Justin walked into the gay welcoming surprise party Hilda and Ignacio set up for him. And it was super cute watching Amanda and Marc almost shed a tear when they saw Justin come out to the entire wedding party.

Amanda and Marc look on...

It really hit home for us when Betty realized that maybe her family doesn't need her as much as she thought - and in reality it was really her needing them. What a big move to accept the job in London. Do you think she will stay or go? What would you want her to do?

We are very sad to see this funny, hip, original show come to an end, but we can't wait to see what happens next week!

What did you make out of this week's episode? How do you predict things will end next week? Follow the jump to see our favorite Ugly Betty quotes!

Ugly Betty Review: "London Calling"

Ugly Betty was jam-packed with entertaining and meaningful story lines.

We kind of fell like we are on the Titanic - the end is near and there is nothing anyone can do about it except enjoy the last couple hours of this brilliantly creative, heartfelt, and funny show.

In "London Calling", the Suarez ladies were off to London to celebrate Hilda's bachelorette party and attend Fashion Week. Amanda accompanied them and they met up with their good old friend Christina. Nothing says reunion better then a girls weekend away!

In London

Of course, there has to be a snag and Betty is spending more time at fashion shows then with the ladies. When she finally sets free for the night and meets up with them, after a drunken dare she flashes Gio!

Was it just us that thought perhaps this could be the rekindling romance in Betty's life?! Gio was definitely on our list - and we are happy to say it wasn't him! His character got the ending it deserved - he met a baker who makes great rustic sourdough bread for his sandwiches. And the lived happily ever after.

At least Gio was able to knock Betty with some reality and made her see what she was becoming - someone very different from what she started out to be. We are happy that Betty declined her job offer (as much as we would have killed to have it!!!)

Poor Bobby - he just couldn't understand why Justin was blowing him off for Austin. Thankfully the episode ended with Bobby knowing the truth. Do you think that he would tell Hilda - after he gave his word to Justin that he won't say a single thing to anyone?! We hope for the sake of their friendship, he will not!

Wilhelmina is living up to her devilish ways better than we expected! Tyler is like that ridiculously handsome guy that just doesn't have a brain - beauty yes - but no brain. We really do hope for the sake of his relationship with Claire and Daniel he will wise up to Wilhelmina's scheming ways.

One last thought - Betty drunk dialed Henry!? What the H-E-Double-Hockey Sticks! Does this mean that the show will end with the two of them getting back together?! Ugh! We didn't want that!

We can't believe there is only two more episodes left! We are so sad to see this show go! What did you think of last night's episode?

Until next week, we leave you with a few of our favorite Ugly Betty quotes after the jump!

Ugly Betty Review: "Million Dollar Smile"

Last night, Betty pretty much took a cue from Alice and fell down her own personal rabbit hole.

Actually, she just fell on her head, but it made for a very Wonderland/dream-like world where everything was upside-down and backwards.

So Long, Braces!

"Million Dollar Smile" showed Betty what the world would be like if she had perfect teeth. Granted, the show was entirely far fetched (C'mon, do we really believe that Betty's world would be that different?!) - but, it was highly entertaining nonetheless.

It was interesting to see that Hilda was no longer beautiful, but a chubby fat girl getting married to the local butcher, while Betty was Queen Bee winning Prom Queen and everything (really - would dating Jeter be such a success?!).

The one sad part of this made-up world was that there was no Justin and Bobby - two of our personal favorite men on Ugly Betty.

We wondered how the writers would make such a historical event take place - and we have to say, job well done!

It is always fun to venture into the "what-if's" and Betty looked smoking hot doing just so! We couldn't agree more with her fairy dentist lady when she told Betty to keep the hair. Betty had great hair throughout her entire time in her imaginary world.

We were really happy with the way things ended and thought the Suarez family food party was a great way to kick-off life without braces.

So, do you think the writers did Betty's braces justification with the storyline? We did wait forever for them to come off - do you think it could have had a better ending? Maybe involve her previous obsessed dentist? Leave us your opinions below on this momentous occasion!

Until next week, we leave you with a few of our favorite Ugly Betty quotes after the jump!

Ugly Betty First Look: Bryan Batt Guest Stars

On April 7, former Mad Men star Bryan Batt will guest star on Ugly Betty.

He'll portray soap opera actor Spencer Cannon, who cozies up to Marc St. James in the installment "The Past Presents the Future.”

Also scheduled for that hour: the wedding day for Hilda is approaching, and Betty asks Daniel to be her date. Meanwhile, Ignacio invites Elena, while Amanda attempts to fix Marc up with her new client, Batt's character.

Get your first look at him in the role below:

Ugly Betty Review: "All the World's a Stage"

As much as Betty is known for her unmistakable look, finally we are making some headway with Betty getting her braces off! Seriously, this should have happened years ago!

"All the World's a Stage" had some funny moments - like when Betty punched Zack in the face - but, overall we thought it was more touching than anything else.

Betty Suarez Image

We have to admit it, we were pretty convinced that Justin may not have been gay after all these years - just very feminine. Yet, we were so happy that he was able to come out of his own denial closet. And what a magical moment that was when Austin kissed him. Yes, we got goose bumps!

Again we were deceived! We really should have known better that Wilhelmina would never give up her job and go play house somewhere! What does this new and more evil Wilhelmina have up her sleeves?! How do you think she will conquer the entire company?

We kind of hope that Amanda and Tyler become an item. Yes, we do feel bad that Daniel is alone, but this does leave the door open for a potential thing with Betty (Okay so not everyone agrees with us on that one, but it would just be so perfect!).

Poor Betty - after all these years and many vast improvements in her overall appearance, she still feels like the chubby dorky girl we came to love in the first season. Hilda did give her great advice - Betty needs to learn to love herself and believe she is worth something.

It is really sad that this show is coming to an end, but we so look forward to Hilda having a perfectly breathtaking wedding that she deserves. What do you hope will happen in the upcoming episodes?

Until next week, we leave you with a few of our favorite Ugly Betty quotes after the jump!

Ugly Betty Spoiler Pics: Offically Braceless!

It's one thing to see shots of America Ferrera on the set of Ugly Betty, her pearly whites fully on display.

But it's even more exciting to get a sneak peek at the March 24 episode of this comedy, as Betty Suarez officially loses her braces.

On "Million Dollar Smile," Betty gets knocked unconscious, forcing her to imagine a world where an angelic Dr. Frankel depicts how different life would have been if she never donned braces.

Yes, Betty is now the pretty one in this universe (while Hilda is homely, Ignacio is a compulsive gambler, Marc is a doting dad and Amanda is married to Daniel)... but she's also very mean.

Sounds like there's a lesson in there, once Betty actually gets her braces off, isn't there? Check out photos from this monumental episode below:
