Gossip Girl Spinoff in the Running ... For 2010
It's coming down to the wire for the pilots vying for a time slot on the broadcast networks' schedule for next season, according to the Hollywood Reporter, and that includes the much-talked-about Gossip Girl spinoff at our beloved.
The latest on that?
As we reported last week, Melrose Place and Vampire Diaries are considered locks, with modeling drama Beautiful Life, Life Unexpected (formerly Light Years) and second-year sleeper Privileged battling for the third and final slot.
The Gossip Girl spinoff - which debuted as part of the second season's penultimate episode, "Valley Girls," in still under consideration, but now for midseason.
In other words, the executives don't see a place for it right now, but if it's fine-tuned a bit, and there's a time slot open in early 2010, it could be penciled in.
Better than nothing, right?

I think this show is a great idea! Lily's past is actually interesting. I want to know more about Serena's father. The cast should not change one bit! Well, if that Owen character stays, maybe that actor should be changed--he looks too much like Dan. If this show is chosen to air CW should def. replay the GG Valley Girls episode since I do think many will forget the details of that episode. Can't wait!

I liked the GG spinoff idea. That's to bad. I think it would be fun if the "boy from the valley" as Lily's mom put it would pop out of the woodwork now and give Rufus a run for his money!

I agree that the previews into this show didn't really grab my attention. Some of the characters did a job (like the actress playing Cece) but others annoyed the hell out of me (like the guy claiming to date Lily's sister). Needs some work as well as the casting choices.

maybe they should make a differnt 80's show...but not one about Lilly. It would get to complicated to stay in the lines of adult Lilly.

They should air the spinoff in Gossip Girl's timeslot when Gossip Girl goes on it's breaks, so they never have reruns (with the exception of the Holidays), and let those who missed Gossip Girl just catch up online. That would be the smart thing to do.

ugh =/ i dont even care about Valley Girls and i hope they never air it. i think it would be boring and i of course would never watch it. all i care about is Gossip Girl.
but if they do ever air Valley Girls it better not interphere with GG....
