LBD: You along with a lot of other people keep saying Izzie and George are dead, I don't think they are! It was meant to be a cliffhanger. I mean we'll find out of course the first episode of next season, but I think it was meant to be up in the air as to who, if either of them survives.
My bet is on Izzie pulling through and George dying.

OMG. I am so glad they are both dead. I got so sick of will they or won't they leave the show. I wasn't a fan of them as a couple and I got so sick of their off screen drama of trying to leave the show. I think Grey's will still be a hit after losing two of their main characters. I can't believe so many people cried. I was actually cheering. I say good ridden!

I think they will live, both of them.
Only in case of George they will replace the actor (if it's true that TR wants out of Grey's it's a good moment to do so, it might be possible because his face was badly damaged in the accident) though the show wouldn't be the same.
And about 007 - even Alex used this nickname in the cafeteria in tonight's episode...

I just thought of something....
why was george in a military uniform??? He did join the army, but he never started. Is this a foreshadow? Like of what is to come, as in, he lives goes to army and dies while he is in the army? and izzie lives gets better and dies as well??

I see I'm in the minority here, but I thought the finale was kind of boring and disappointing. So much of it was predictable. Yes, George being the guy hit by the bus was a shocker, but we knew something was going to happen. And I'm tired of Izzie, all her whining last year got her a storyline that monopolized the entire season. If she wants out, let her die. I do hope George makes it as I've always felt he really added something to the overall cast.
I like the way MerDer connected with one another and made their commitment vows, but don't we all still want a real wedding!

totally agree with breakfast5487.
this was just a surprising finale. i didn't realize it were george until he wrote 007, i screamed like meredith ;). i thought it was just a normal patient..
and izzy dying.. i love her character, and so i hope she won't die, the same for george. first i was sad, because of the army thing, but then i thought, maybe they can bring him back the next season, but now... dead?? i hope not.
but i think either both of them die or only one of them will live.
im so sad right now (watched it now, because i live in germany ;)).

I agree with you Shad. Callie was mean and distant and downright rude. The way she spoke to Arizona and behaved was NOT ok. Last weeks episode? Amazing. I literally stood up and commended Shonda for bringing such societal issues to light. However tonight? Not only was the writing off and the lines just cheezy and predictable, it was boring for the first 95 mintues of it. Let's compare this season's to last season's finale.. it soooo fell short this year.

when the first previews of the season 5 premiere were out and we all went berserk thinking somethin was gonna happen to derek,shonda said he's not gonna get hit by a bus or something! and thats exactly what she did to george in the season finale!

OK guys don't hate me, but will someone tell me the what the 007 meant? I guess reading all your comments I'm the only person who didn,t know it was George. Where was the message of 007?
Also I watched my tivo 4 times at the last elevator scene and it looks like George is dead because Izzy does a mini second sad look at George to say I'm staying for another season.It was alot to take in and its going to be a long summer for GA fans waiting to see the outcome.

Now the writers have the option to get rid of either of them if Katherine & TR decide that they want out of the show OR given George's lack of storyline in Season 5, Season 6 could be mainly based around him (imagine how long it'll take him to recover!). Good twist with Joe Doe being George though, I was wondering why they were focusing so much on this one patient on a season finale.
How long do we have to wait until Season 6?!?!?!....

I am a huge Callie fan, like huge. She was my investment in the show, she was the character that I was rooting for. And today, I was disappointed, in her actions and in her words. Things like "who are you?", "shut up" are not things to be said to someone you care for...the only thing that i did about their hand grab was that it was the first time she didnt let someone she loved walk away from her. she let george go. she let erica go. she let her family go...but she didnt let arizona go. And that I think was poignant.
And despite a character trip, Callie is still my investment, she still is the person I want to see happy in this show. She just needs to learn that Arizona wont always chase after her, and that she needs to fight for the good things that come her way.

oh GOD! i cried just about now.. that was breath taking.. i don't know what i feel right at this moment... Y? *sigh* still teary eyed on that 2 hour season finale.. MAJOR/HUGE cliffhanger! george and izzie...wah!
I'M TOTALLY SPEECHLESS... *cry*
i hope they both survive.. but if not... still i can't wait for next season..
the finale will definitely BUG me for a while... scenes kept replaying on my mind... hah! *sigh*
