  1. par4 Says:

    Ace what's wrong with you?
You can't accept the fact that some people watch Grey's Anatomy because of George?
Who are you to decide what is best for a show? And why you are right and they are wrong?
OK, we get that you dislike George Character, or you just don't care about him.
But for some people George was the best thing on the show.
    Accept it.
I don't like Karev, Marc, Lexie. I thing their characters is so boring. But still they are Grey's Anatomy part. And maybe the show would be different without them.
I use to love GA. But season 5 was just lame. That's a fact too. Season's finale save the year. And maybe one of the facts that make season 5 lame was George's lack of airtime.
    YoU like Shonda's behaviour, i don't.
I like George and Gizzie, you don't.
I can accept that. Do you?

  2. greysaddiction Says:

one more try (although I tried this b/f)
    sorry! :)

  3. greysaddiction Says:

    hahaha...
how's that to change the mood!

  4. greysaddiction Says:

I'll try once more the end the italics!
    Sorry again!

  5. greysaddiction Says:

sorry.. didn't intend all of the above to all be in italics!

  6. greysaddiction Says:

    Ace writes:
"I'm just saying that for all those hardcore George fans that only watched the show for only George are placing the blame entirely on Shonda and playing TR Knight as a victim."

For the record... this is a big blanket statement about what you perceive all "hardcore George fans" think. There are MANY "hardcore" George and TR fans. Please be careful about throwing us all into a large category, labeling what we think about George or TR.

That's all I'm gonna say b/c I'm tired of the fighting. Really? If you don't like what some people are posting and you really want to stop it, why respond? You really are fueling the fire. If you want to discuss speculation over what may have happened... that all sounds fine to me. But no one seems to be discussing here... only whining, potential oversimplification of the situation, coupled with telling people to get over themselves. This is only making the fighting worse.

And please, don't make any more big assumptions on what all George and TR fans think.

If you really must respond... why not respond in a way that's directed to a specific comment and that poster?

I don't mean to sound harsh, but the blanket statements about what all George/TR fans think/feel are a bit much.

  7. Yv Says:

    I call BS Ace

I'm not pro-TR or anti-Shonda, but in the picture you're trying to paint, you're leaving out one very important fact, one of choice.

" Now, even from an production stand-point, for all those that agrued that TR was shafted, he was getting paid for full-episodes despite his less than stellar visibility. If I was an executive, I'd be more pissed that I'm paying TR as much as I'm paying all the other actors and not have him do squat. And pay-out is determined at contract negotiations BEFORE anything is filmed. So, for all those theories that TR was shafted in season 5, TR Knight's salary was locked in before 5.01.

    That's fact.

I certainly don't hold TR Knight or Shonda responsible for what happened, because that's life, and it happens. Actors move on and writers move on."

Just because a person gives their notice for their employment doesn't mean that they won't fulfill their jobs till the very end. If Shonda knew that it was his last season, it was her own choice that she left him out of so much. She could have used him in magnificent ways leading up to the finale that everyone knew was coming, but she didn't. It was her choice.

As for the "executives" being pissed off having to pay him full salary, it's Shonda they should be pissed at. She had the goods but did not use them to her full advantage. Plain and simple.

  8. Ace Says:

Despite the "ratings being down", the show's 5th season is still ranked in the top-ten of primetime shows. I already explained the methodology of basing the show's success or failure with just using the Neilson ratings out of context.

Anyway, someone commented earlier if I was Shonda's protector. Of course not, I don't need to protect Shonda because I'm not deflecting blame off of Shonda. I'm just saying that for all those hardcore George fans that only watched the show for only George are placing the blame entirely on Shonda and playing TR Knight as a victim.

TR Knight is not a victim.

If you're going to blame Shonda for killing George, you have to blame TR Knight as well, because George's fate wasn't written until AFTER TR refused his renewal and finalized his release from his 7-year committment.

All of you are basing your information on what the media has sensationalized between TR and Shonda. It's the model of entertainment news to paint a good and a bad guy, otherwise it wouldn't be "entertainment news". No one on this forum knows what truly happened, and all those people that say they do are so full of crap. You aren't TR's bff, you weren't part of the staff, you don't know what went down between Shonda and TR, so stop pretending like you do and then blabbing on the forums no how evil Shonda is and how victimized TR was. PUH-LEASE.

    TR quit.

    That's fact.

Shonda wrote George's fate after he quit.

    That's fact.

TR asked to be released from his 7-year commitment with GA, during December.

    That's fact.

No matter how marginalized TR was in season 5, he had an huge story arcs from season 1 all the way to season 4.

    That's fact.

TR Knight, no matter how marginalized was still a series regular and got PAID as a series regular because of star-billing. Now, even from an production stand-point, for all those that agrued that TR was shafted, he was getting paid for full-episodes despite his less than stellar visibility.

Actors move on and writers move on.

I'm just saying for those hell-bent on blaming Shonda for everything, get some equal-perspective because it's not one-sided. If you're gonna blame Shonda, blame TR as well.

And that argument, "she forced him to quit."

Seriously? What are we 12? Did she tie his hand beind his back and pin his arms down and force him to cry uncle?

    No.

    He quit.

No one forced him, he quit. That argument is such a load of bull. No one forces anyone to quit. You either stick it out or you don't. Life isn't peaches and cream and everything's all Candyland, no, sometimes your worklife sucks. And you either accept it and wait it out or you quit. But NO ONE FORCES YOU TOO.

Considering California is SUCH a pro-labor state, and as actors are employees, it would be very difficult to force someone to quit and not be held liable to labor-actions.

So NO, Shonda didn't force TR to quit, TR quit. He made a choice. Hold him accountable for that choice and the consequences that happened. Once he said, "I quit" Shonda had no obligation to keep that character available for him in the future. PLEASE! THIS IS A BUSINESS! You quit your job, it's not there for you waiting, hoping it comes back, it's either filled by someone else or it's dissolved. Acting and acting jobs are no different. You quit, there is no expectation that it's there waiting for you.

And seriously, when is it EVER the practice of any series to date for any writer to obligate themselves to hold a character indefinitely in-limbo. And even then, this is a DRAMA people, dead don't mean dead. Again, look at Bonnie, Nurse Fallon, Dylan, and Denny. ALL DEAD PEOPLE. And guess what, they came back.. why? Because the actors came back. Now... the argument that there's no way that George can come back is dumb. Hello? Flashbacks. Fantasy scenes. Heaven. Purgatory. George can still come back.

Now... that... is ALSO something you have hold TR accountable for. Because the dead people only come back if their actors come back to play them.

If TR doesn't come back, that's on TR.

He's not a victim. He made a choice.

What's that saying? You made your bed now lie in it. Or He dug his own grave, now lie in it.

    He choice to leave.

It wasn't personal, it wasn't vendictive. Get over yourselves. This is a business. At the end of the day, it's a business. Call it ratings-grab, call it whatever, but it's a business. He left. GA accommodated that departure, so deal with it.

  9. Evelyn Says:

TR always tries new things. He's cool that way. He dyed them blue. He dyed them red. He tried a beard (the scruffy look was yummy on him), and he changed hair styles so many times.

I swear I'd love to meet him. On every photo I see, he is smiling or laughing so hard.

He sounds like the kind of guy I'd love to hang out with.

Yep, this was season 2. He said George getting syphillis was his favorite moment, LOL.

I'll miss him so much on the show. I'm glad they're not recasting because heck he makes George the lovable cute amazing guy that he was. I just wish our George didn't die.

  10. didi Says:

Ah, season 2 , hence Kate being there. Wish they'd hurry up and show the dreaded S4, or repeat S2 and S3.
The head shaving is a "I'm free" gesture though.

  11. Shelly Says:

This interview is from season 2. TR dyed his hair blue back then.

Thing is, TR shaved his head because he thought he had done filimg.

    Aussiello talks about it here:
    http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/07/the-whole-story-behind-the-greys-elevator-swap.html

    TR also talks in this.

  12. didi Says:

It's still there! I can't spell Ellen. James and Kate were also there plugging GA on 5 on UK tv.
    try www2.five.tv/programmes/greysanatomy. Hope it works

  13. didi Says:

If Izzie was declaring in episode 22(100th) that she really loved Alex, it would be wrong if her escort to whatever after life would be her ex fiance.
I also wondered if George's head issue had to do with something I saw on a UK website a few weeks ago. I don't know when it was recorded, but Elle, Chandra and TR were saying "Hi, I'm.... and welcome to GA on Channel 5". Thing was, TR's hair was a bluey/purpley colour. I thought now there's someone who's having a bit of fun! but as I say, I've no idea when it was filmed. I think the actors are there to publicise GA S4 being shown an terestial (free) tv.

  14. Callie Says:

I'll always be angry George wasn't show all season and then he died.

You can't tell people they don't have the right to be mad. Nobody ahs been bashing Shonda on this post, and you and Ace are the ones who brought it up.

Thanks for the images. I love them. TR and Katie are the best together!

Here's Justin and Katie talking about TR leaving:
    http://www.etonline.com/news/2009/07/76505/index.html

They're going to miss him like we do.

  15. Farrah Says:

I just found those photos of TR and Katie from yesterday:
    http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.aspx?contractUrl=2&language=en-US&family=editorial&p=TR%20Knight&assetType=image&src=quick#

    So so cute!

I'm posting them as they weren't posted yet.

  16. Isabelle Says:

Then stop telling people not to complain about Shonda. We have the right too. I don't believe TR would have left if he had been written for. I don't just blame Shonda. I blame everyone of TPTB. Shonda has made a lot of decisions I hated in the past and the show isn't the same as it used to be. It's no good anymore. I watched for George and for Gizzie, so I won't watch anymore. Do I hate Shonda? No. Do I think she's a genius? No, far from it. She is ruining her show. That's why the ratings are down.

  17. Stefan Kusovski Says:

Shonda Rhymes is brilliant - as much as i love both george and izzy i dont mind what happened or what is about to happen...its her damn show so let her do what she wants....she can make anything believable and i love her for that.

  18. steph_babes Says:

Yes it's sad that George and Izzie may be leaving the show permenatly, but Shonda is doing what she can to accomodate T.R Knight and Katherine Heigl's wishes to perhaps leave the show. Stop with the Anti-Shonda nonsense people because obviously you're all very passionate about the show to be posting comments on spoilers for next season, because Shonda wrote Grey's, if you remember? She's the one that made you fall in love with Izzie, George and all the other characters in the first place and she's the one that created all the scenes of happiness, joy, tears and anger. She's brilliant and I for one am very thankful she perservered despite the ungrateful opinions of you people!

  19. MrsPattinsonDiggoryCullen Says:

So I guess my instincts were correct when I thought it would be Denny who was waiting for Izzie, because that's the way it was at first!

  20. 14Grey's Says:

I've already commented on this, I think. But if any of you who would like to know a spoiler about the season premiere, go to the spoiler section of the forum. It's not to much of one, but I was interested when I found out.

  21. Tiff Says:

So are we going to see George again? Is TR going to be on the premiere? Please say yes. I love George and I want to see him one last time. He has to come back one last time, right?

  22. anuflas Says:

I didn't understand anything of Ausiello said. Just confused me more.

  23. sarah Says:

So she would not give a last scene with George?. I think she just has to stop talking,is only making the things worse. Nobody believes her anymore.
    Sorry for my English.

  24. Bella Says:

George looked so handsome in his uniform. I always thought he was good-looking but he was hot in that scene,

I want to cry when I see him knowing he's dead though. I love my George.

Gizzie looked like a gorgeous couple like that.

  25. Allie Says:

I'm pretty sure the problem with his head is that he cut his hair, but it works out perfectly cause they put him in a uniform.
