Smallville has already announced a series of season nine guest stars:

Callum Blue will appear as the character of Zod; while Brian Austin Green comes aboard as the villain Metallo.

As for specific storyline news, E! Online reports that Chloe and Oliver won't be hooking up at any point next year.

Instead, the major romance arc on season nine will focus on Lois and Clark. Hey, we can't find fault with that!
