1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from the episode?
I agree with anne, the best quote belongs to Jenny: "that's unfair, everybody's topless on Valentino's yatch"
2. Chuck and Blair's game: Hot, boring or asking for trouble?
They are anything but boring. I'm gonna go with "Asking for trouble" because Blair's psychosis on not becoming boring is really kind of annoying.
3. Rate Vanessa's uselessness this week on a scale of 1-10.
10 - For being so annoying and for making Dan feel bad about his new life;
Plus 5 - For always dating losers. I mean, first Nate and now Scott? Seriously?

Look, when I was redesigning the header last month, I almost decided I no longer hate Vanessa because of how hot she looked. Then she shows up with hair so nappy it has flies in it (rewatch the outdoor scenes), a relationship with the lamest long lost brother actor they could have cast, and back to the same annoying anti-rich rants that even Dan got bored of. Stop being so useless or I will be forced to remove you from the header. 11"
BIG FAT LOL. Gossip Guy said everything I wanted to! Except that I would give Vanessa 20 degrees of uselessness to say at least!
And agreeing with Gossip Guy one more time: Dan has become one of my new fav characters!!

I found this a little anti-climactic, actually. Not as cool as I was expecting. These two still play off of each other beautifully, though, so I think there's hope for improvement.

Chuck and Blair are asking for trouble, but it's hot that they're doing everything they can to avoid being boring. I also think it's humorous/ironic that Nate and Serena are the voices of reason.

About an 8. Love Jessica, hate Vanessa.
4. Will Nate really cut ties with his famiy - and what does his grandfather have up his sleeve?
Nate the squatter? Check. Nate the man-whore? Check. Nate sans Vanderbilts? I don't think so. And Grandfather doesn't do 'up his sleeves', that's what Tripp is for.

Hahaha this is fun to read. I agree with LovelyLively and Mister Meestwick for most of the comments, especially Question 2 regarding Chuck and Blair's game. It's a bit of heading for trouble but also crazy HOT. It's something twisted but interesting, and really, the truth is, CB can never be boring. (I quote Chuck in the episode haha)
I like the bonus question regarding Carter and Serena - LOL DANdy's comment is hilarious!! I actually think they both look really great together, hot even. But I'm not sure how it'll be as a couple for them, and I doubt they'll even last, but its fun and very interesting watching them for now.
And all in all, even though Carter looks super HOT in this episode, not even him can beat the degree of sexiness exuded by the one and only CHUCK BASS. xD

4.whatever the gradfather has up his sleeve i think its gonna be good :) but i dont think nate will ever cut ties with his family i think he wants to be independant but what other kind of family does he have??

serena- acting profoundly stupid and infantile with that "imma gonna r!de horzez wearing that unbelievably expensive dress and then make out in da woodzz so meh daddz notices meee!1!!!111" thing, come on, she could've gone wild and still saved some undamaged brains. apart from that, a pressumable chemistry between her and uberhot-Carter looks promising, they look so cute together
CHAIR-yes,please. more, please.needless to say I watched the episode practically only to see how they are doing together. the first scene scared the heck out of me but then it was just getting better and better yay. their dirty games might cause a danger though, i don't know where's this plot going to.

Hurray! At last, the return of GG. So glad to see Chuck and Blair still has that special chemustry. Missed them.
Dan's hot now. Maybe there can be a Dan + Blair storyline? I've always thought they're great and funny to watch, together.
Have been a Derena fan but I'm impressed by The Carter+Serena thing. Hope the thing develops deeper. They're convincing.
Did not mind Vanessa at all (all hiatus) but was irritated by her soon as i saw her on-screen. What is it with the character of Vanessa? Holier-than-thou? Thinks she's better than everyone else? I guess she's just one of those like her / hate her kind of nondescript screen-persona. Jessica is gorgeous in real life though.
I might be the only person that actually likes Vanessa. Yeah, it was a little weird she just showed up to the polo match but you gotta admit Dan ditching her for Blair was effed up (from her point of view).
I loved the little fight between Nate and Bree after they were gettin hot and heavy on the helicopter. "You pulled my hair at Clinton's inauguration" ... "Take care of yourself." Peace out. That was cute.
I loved Chair's game. Blair's planned out verbal whipping was great. They never disappoint.
Umm.. I'm not liking the whole thing with Scott where everytime he's on the phone with his parents he's looking at a birth certificate or an article about Rufus and Lily. Does anyone actually do that in reality? I get they need to tie it all together but his storyline better get.. better.
And nonononono Carena ! They're no good. Anyone else think Carter is like Chuck's long lost brother.. sexy, bad boy and great with the ladies ? God Leighton's one lucky b*tch.

I loved Blair and Chuck in season2 and i still love them after Reversals of Fortune. i feel like there was a lot being introduced in this episode and the writers could not solely focus on Chair and i was completely fine with that. we have all season to see CB go on sex capades. i understand that we waited four months for THAT!! but c'on we have next week and the week after that and the week after that... plus we did have some cute scenes in there. Blair and Chuck are not boring. they are still trying to figure thgeir relationship out and when they do (hopefully next week) they will blow our minds

I like new Dan, not to sure about his though, probably am still getting used to it.
Vanessa served to demonstrate what happens when people don't comb their hair. Nate I can't really say, I didn't pay attention to him. Serena sounds as if she has an interesting storyline plus loving Carter, if only he was on it more. Chair, I agree with everything Kimmie said about them; they were more sweet then sexy but I loved finally seeing that side of them when they're together. I can't wait to see more of them in a relationship. Go Chair!

2. C&B's game: Trouble. B is feeling insecure about her future, new school, social status, etc. - will spill over to C. now that summer's over
3. Vanessa: 7. Bitches at Dan, admits would take limo herself, then stalks him at society polo match? B*tch AND a hypocrite. Ugh.
4. Nate's family: Nate will unsuccessfully ditch family over and over b/c he's a wuss at heart. Praying for "if you can't beat em, join em" phase mid-season.
5. New Dan: physically his face is all angular and his hair is too long, but I was so happy at him telling Vanessa off, i will forgive just about anything right now.
Bonus: Carena - hot! They have chemistry and she's not whiny with him like with Dan. I was worried with a "reigned-in" Chuck who would be the immoral compass of the show - welcome back Carter!

2. The game? I liked it, but I needed to see some non-game, passionately-in-love Chuck and Blair first. I feel cheated of all that happy summer honeymoon, and I suspect a lot of other viewers do too. We should have watched the game begin and then end, rather than being dropped in midstream. I also suspect a lot of viewers didn't understand the game at all, judging from comments in the other thread.
3. It's okay with me that Vanessa is a self-righteous pain in the rear. It wouldn't be as fun if we liked all the characters. I see her becoming that college student who tries really hard to be Different and Cool. That postmodernist Coffeehouse Intellectual who is constantly holier-than-thou. It's the role reversal: V. becomes popular in college for playing "outsider", while B.'s social life suffers because she is honestly herself, upper east side snob.

OMG, this may have been the worst episode of GG EVER. I absolutely hated it, it wasn't good at all! The only funny thing was Dan. Dan..! When Dan's the funniest/best thing in the episode, there is a problem. What happened to cool Blair and sexy Chuck? And did Vanessa get dreadlocks? Bad hair extensions much?
I had a slow moment and forgot who Cristiano Ronaldo was lol I love the pop culture reference they have on this show :)
1. "I'm not Chuck Bass without you." Duh, my heart melted. I love Chair
2. "The game"? As much as I hate to say it, i might be asking for trouble. Could they do something else to keep their love alive. I nothing right now... But something else :P
3. Uselessness? how about an 8, mainly because she was making Dan feel bad for goodness knows what reason. Like get over yourself.
4. Cut ties? I can only hope. Grandpa Archibald, probably sabotage Nate's relationship with Bree. Darn I'm so not creative today :(

1. Best line: "I'm not Chuck Bass without you."
2. The game? I liked it, but I needed to see some non-game, passionately-in-love Chuck and Blair first. I feel cheated of all that happy summer honeymoon, and I suspect a lot of other viewers do too. We should have watched the game begin and then end, rather than being dropped in midstream. I also suspect a lot of viewers didn't understand the game at all, judging from comments in the other thread.
3. It's okay with me that Vanessa is a self-righteous pain in the rear. It wouldn't be as fun if we liked all the characters. I see her becoming that college student who tries really hard to be Different and Cool. That postmodernist Coffeehouse Intellectual who is constantly holier-than-thou. It's the role reversal: V. becomes popular in college for playing "outsider", while B.'s social life suffers because she is honestly herself, upper east side snob.

OMG, this may have been the worst episode of GG EVER. I absolutely hated it, it wasn't good at all! The only funny thing was Dan. Dan..! When Dan's the funniest/best thing in the episode, there is a problem. What happened to cool Blair and sexy Chuck? And did Vanessa get dreadlocks? Bad hair extensions much?

I had a slow moment and forgot who Cristiano Ronaldo was lol I love the pop culture reference they have on this show :)

2. "The game"? As much as I hate to say it, i might be asking for trouble. Could they do something else to keep their love alive. I nothing right now... But something else :P
3. Uselessness? how about an 8, mainly because she was making Dan feel bad for goodness knows what reason. Like get over yourself.
4. Cut ties? I can only hope. Grandpa Archibald, probably sabotage Nate's relationship with Bree. Darn I'm so not creative today :(
5. Dan has changed, he's a little more accepting and i can appreciate that he's trying to embrace his new life.
