Grey's Anatomy: Season Six Premiere Spoilers

at . Comments

The first episode of Season Six of Grey's Anatomy is very dark, as the cast hinted and creator Shonda Rhimes has flat-out stated throughout the long offseason.

In the opinion of some, the show's executive producer may have tried to ease viewers in to a George-less Grey's Anatomy, it just wouldn't work. He was too special.

Even if there are fans who may not have liked George, in Seattle Grace, everybody liked him.

Just how beloved George was is clear in how people react to his death.

The Coffin

We'll save the Grey's Anatomy spoilers for after the jump. Click to read some details of what you can expect in the first episode of the upcoming season, "Good Mourning" ...

There will be:
  • A severed arm
  • A short, strange funeral scene
  • An appearance by George's mom
  • Talk about George's male anatomy
  • People reacting in strange, strange ways to his death.

While there were those who did the requisite crying and staring into space, Grey's Anatomy fans should watch out for one or two pronounced, life-changing reaction.

In short, the episode is all about George O'Malley, and rightly so.

Meanwhile, the person least affected with George's demise gets her own plot line. Arizona Robbins will try to do her job as virtually everyone around her is still reeling.

As seen in one of the promos, there is also the matter of the Chief and Derek in talks over the Chief of Surgery position - but "in talks" may be too soft a term.

The talk between George's mom and one of the surgeons may prove to be one of the more heartbreaking scenes in an episode that in itself is heartbreaking.

I absolutely hated how George was excluded from season 5 of Grey's Anatomy.. Before I learned that T.R. Knight was leaving Grey's, I had noticed that he was absent way too often. He was an extremely valuable asset of the show. I have every season on DVD, I am a true fan. However, if Shonda Rimes doesn't get her act together, I fear for the future of the show.

"because now George is just going to replace Denny, in Izzy's head" i don't think that george is going to replace denny in izzie's head. george died because the actor wanted to leave the series, and it would be nonsense if he continued in the show. also, izzie doesn't have cancer any more and she won't have allucinations with anyone. anyway, i would't mind if she did if that meant that george didnt leave the show

i can't belive george is dead. he was my favourite character together with izzie, alex and derek. i will defenetly suffer his absence

could it be bossible that izzie receives an organ from george?they say that george's mom has to decide what to do with his organs...that can be interesting.sorry my english,i'm from romania

That sucks... George was a great character... I don't think they shoulda done this though, because now George is just going to replace Denny, in Izzy's head. And the whole Izzy thing is starting to get on my nerves...

george was my mcdreamy!!!!!!!! so sad to see him leave.

I love George.. I will miss him so for Burke... I do want Burke back, I loved his character. But I do not want IW back - that homophobc jerk. Too bad Burke was played by him, because like Burke.

I know. No George or TR fan ever wants to see this jerk back.

No one can love George and want that homophob back. I think he is a jerk.

"i think that maybe Burke will come back and Christina will be confused with how she will feel!" From your words to writers' eyes/pens!

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
