Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Owenstina, Slexie and Der (Not Mer)
After yesterday's revelations about Katherine Heigl's leave of absence and Izzie getting fired from Seattle Grace (at least for five episodes), Michael Ausiello of EW has more spoilers and gossip for us to marinate on today. Let's get right down to it ...
Q: Grey’s Anatomy scoop on Owen and Cristina, please!
A: They’re headed for a dry spell. In the season premiere, Amy Madigan’s shrink advises Dr. Owen Hunt against making further sexy time with Cristina until he can get the voices in his head to shut the hell up. They’re not breaking up. Just taking things slooooow.
Q: Mark-Lexie scoop please!
A: “They’ve got a lot of challenges coming down the pike,” concedes a Grey's Anatomy insider and writer for the show. “The most consistent challenge is the one that’s built into the fabric of their relationship: He’s pushing 40, she’s in her early 20s.”
Q: What will happen to Patrick Dempsey's character, Derek Shepherd, on Grey’s Anatomy when Ellen Pompeo (Meredith) heads off on maternity leave?
A: He will get some much-needed alone time. As Grey’s executive producer Krista Vernoff explains, Dempsey has been “patiently” waiting to get a story that wasn’t directly tied to the Der-Mer love story. And this season he will finally get his wish.
“Derek hasn’t been a fully explored character separate from Meredith,” Vernoff adds, noting that “the fact that by necessity Ellen Pompeo is going to need a little less screen time gives us more encouragement to explore Derek as a doctor.”
This includes what Vernoff calls an “extraordinary medical story” involving McDreamy and a patient in the sixth episode, directed by co-star Chandra Wilson.

I know this is long overdue but I just started watching GA again and I love Lexie and Mark. I don't understand the hate, really. I think they have chemistry. For those who say they don't, well, I think you're wrong. And Lexie is NOT a bubbling idiot. She's just quirky and that's who she is...that doesn't make her stupid or immature. She and Mark balance each other out. I'm only watching GA again because of them, so if they break up...well, crap, I'll just have to stop watching again. You can't make Mark fall for someone after being a womanizer for so long, only to take Lexie away from him. No...I won't be watching GA again if that happens.

I'm 53 now and when I was 18 I dated a man who was 37. Everything about us "fit" each other from the start. We got engaed when I was 19 and he was 39. On the night he proposed, my guy was killed by a drunk driver after leaving my home - he was less than 1 mile from my house. All of my family and friends loved him - including my Dad. It really turns my stomach to see such glaring ignorance over something so inconsequential. Lexie is 24 and apparently is going to turn 25 shortly after the season starts. They are saying Mark is "pushing 40" which means he's 38. Where does anyone get the crazy idea he could be her father? It's 13-14 years for crying out loud - no big deal at all. Everyonee doesn't have to like it or the couple but for crying out loud, get over it. If they split up Mark and Lexie I will never watch this show again.

Gizzie was written as a love story until Shonda got pressured into dropping them. Rewatch seasons 3 and then season 4, and you can see the difference. Gizzie was very brief (18 episodes)but they captured my heart more than any couple has before or will again and I have loved many many other couples.
Chemistry is completely subjective. I think their chemistry was out of this world.

Well chemistry is subjective. I think Alex and Izzie have zero chemistry and George and Izzie had loads. The best in the show IMO. That elevator kiss was so so hot.
I couldn't care less if Gizzie was brief. They were still the best couple on the show.
Mica is right. The haters made a lot of noise and scared Shonda off. That,s why Izzie went from totally in love to saying she and George were some meaningless mistake, but in season 3, Gizzie was totally written as in love.
Izzie was totally crazy about George, and you could see that in her love declaration.
Shonda never seemed to like AI that much to me. Just look at the way she writes them. Izzie never seems into Alex. She just thought that is what the fans wanted.
It,s sad because I know a lot of people who watched for Gizzie and Gizzie alone and haven't watched since they ended. The ratings were higher when they were a couple.
I know I haven't watched that much either since they ended.

Gizzie had amazing amazing chemistry and their love story lasted from 3.18 to 4.10. Except I don't count the 4.7 top 4.10 as the real Gizzie. Shonda just thought WRONGLY they were hated by everyone when in fact they had as many fans as haters.
Izzie totally loved George but to please the haters and the AI fans, Shonda acted like she wasn't and she really loved Alex. i still don't buy that.
Izzie never looked at Alex the way she looked at George or showed as much passion and adoration for him,.
I think it's a tie between george and Denny for the love of her life thing.
Alex is just a consolation price.

megan, you're right, gizzie was so brief, and George's marriage. I always felt sorry for Callie who was so into George when he didn't reciporcate those feelings.
I think iz is desperate to hold on to someone. I think Denny was the love of her life, and whilst she loves Alex I don't think she is as commited to him as she could be.

Did Gizzie even have a storyline? I mean after their affair they were in like 5 episodes together...then it got all weird and they decided to just be friends. She must not have been that in love with him because it did not take her long to get with Alex.
Everyone wants them to be together..the only time they were happy and in love was when they were drunk and had sex.
Talk about no chemistry...those two had none!!
