Each week on The Vampire Diaries, more and more is revealed about various characters, storylines and Mystic Falls in general.

But it sounds like the show is gearing up for a major Halloween episode, scheduled to air on October 29.

During that hour, Elena will dress as a nurse, as seen below.

“There are people dressing up like vampires all around town, which is confusing. Something happens that requires the Salvatore brothers to work together to cover their tracks," said Nina Dobrev.

That something won't be anything meaningless, either. Quite the opposite, added producer Julie Plec.

“What happens is pretty enormous,” she said. “It’s our biggest thing so far. Everything that we’ve been building to with one specific character comes to a head and ultimately changes all the sibling relationships forever.”
