Private Practice Recap: "The Hard Part"
Last night's episode of Private Practice, while it certainly had its moments, felt a bit uneven and forced at times to us. Both plots felt a little far-fetched. Do you agree?
Even if you like Addison and Sam together, which we admit we do, it seemed like the way they got closer was both obvious and hard to believe, given what happened.
Also, what is a woman whose due date is that day doing driving in the middle of nowhere? No one has any cell service? What are the odds of them all being trapped?
Meanwhile, at the practice, the erection situation mirrored an episode of Season 2 of Grey's. Only this was much more dubious. The girl really got pregnant by someone else?
Not to mention the fact that Charlotte's admission of her past marriage, while well done, didn't really make sense to us as far as how it would convince the kid to stay.
Still, it'll be interesting to see where Sam and Addison are headed, we love Charlotte and Coop, and the subplot with Pete and Sheldon last night as a real crowd-pleaser.

Oh my goodness! I absolutely LOVE Addison and Sam together! I think that would be a good storyline! We need some GOOD relationship drama at Oceanside! haha if they do it right they would REALLY pull that storyline off!
If someone had just mentioned that they might get together I would be like "eww, NO WAY!" but actually physically seeing it sorta happen on screen and seeing the pure chemistry they have together is awesome! they are so HOT together! I'm really hoping for more Sam and Addison scenes!
And I also agree, Private Practice is much more grown up BUT I still love my Grey's too :)

Word!
"PP is more grown up !
Kate Walsh played a blinder with Addison's reaction to the woman dying. So sad and so heartbreaking.
Best episode this season".

I understood that the meaning of the kiss was a sort of 'what if?' but to a degree, it feels that Addie hasn't fully let Derek and their old life go.
It's me though. I want Addison to fully move on but it seems that she puts this barrier of fear of having another failed relationship.
Also, in GA right now, nobody is getting into bed anymore. It's grown up GA.
I can't wait for this week!

I think you've missed the point of the Addison/Sam kiss. The whole thing was about Sam's what if ? question. Would they have worked out if they had dated in med school. They kissed, didn't feel it, and had a giggle about it. I would be surprised if it goes further. And it wasn't about Addie holding onto Derek (LOL), it was Addie and Sam saying that no, they made the right decision back in med school. Loved it. This is where PP differs from Greys - Greys would have had them in bed together as soon as they got home from that bad day, PP is more grown up !

Crap!
When Addison and Sam kissed, first I was like: "Oh, noooo, not Sam and Addison, they're friends!" Then I thought "crap, they're HOT, wooow" and then I was sooo relieved when they started laughing:)
No, no, it was just an emotional time after a rough day:) I think Sam and Bailey would work great together. He was cute the other episode when he called Bailey short or something and then almost kissed her. That's a story to pick up Shonda!:)
Kate Walsh had her brightest moment in my opinion, especially if I compare it to the last few episodes:)

i loved the episode. season 3 of private practice is really, really good. i like the idea of addie and sam together. i think they can make their relationship work, that is, if naomi can accept that her best friend and ex-husband will be in a relationship.

OMG!!!! I watched that eppy thursday night. But I was seeing it through beer bottle glasses and I didn't think it was good. But I just watched again and it is the best eppy I've seen of PP. It was fantastic. Loved "Indiana Addie"....She was awsome. I was really shocked at the end when she and Sam kissed. I was also thinking. You can't do that...Sam has to go back to SGH and date Bailey. They was so cute together. Hmmm maybe Charlotte does have a heart. Loved the story she told the bride. The erection I thought Grey's what was that the second season when Merridith's b/f got the erection and had to be hospitalized? Do ya ever just close your eyes and hear different people saying the same things that others have said on Grey's? The husband said something that I heard from the teenage boy that had some kind of stomach preblem that his sisters suffered from too. It was almost the same dialog. Somestimes that works and sometimes I catch it right off. LOL!!! I watch to much Grey's Anatomy!!!

A 3 hour walk/hike is roughly equivalent to a twenty minute drive, so it is completely feasible. He may have taken her for a ride in nature to calm her anxiety down about the baby's impending arrival.
Also, Sam said his phone worked initially. I believe it still did because he clearly called for help and they came pretty quickly since it wasn't three hours of time passing before he got help. He probably walked where he could get a signal and called.
They all weren't trapped. Sam just could not find the right time to leave without putting his "patients" in more danger and leaving Addison without help. I thought all of the escalating crises were both believable and excellently structured leading to that surprising ending. You just knew it was gonna be the husband who croaked and bam it was the wife, after all she went through!
And Charlotte was telling the kid not to walk away from his fiancé because of her stupid behavior the way she walked away from her ex husband beca

I thought this episode was fantastic! It was excellently written from the first crisis on. The wife was excellent and it was the first time I felt for and cried with Addison. It blows
GA out of the water every week with the writing, particularly with character development. The medical stories are way more interesting and the camraderie of the characters is integral to the stories.
Also, Taye and Audra look particularly beautiful this season. They (Sam and Naomi) just need to get back together already!
