The Vampire Diaries or The Twilight Saga: The Debate Continues

at . Comments

A new video has posed an old question:

Are you on Team Vampire Diaries or Team Twilight Saga?

The clip below analyzes an article from earlier this month in The New York Post. Written by Ari Karpel, it states that The Vampire Diaries is a much better example of vampire lore for a few reasons:

  • There's blood.
  • There's gore.
  • There's sex.
  • There's a fully developed heroine with an actual personality.

Sorry, Bella lovers. But it's hard to argue with the final point, isn't it?

Check out the video now and let the debate rage on...

Of course, we know what many vampire fans would say: forget these two examples entirely. Give me True Blood or give me death!

Where do you stand?

sorry but twilight sucks there is no blood and bella is like a toy i love tvd its my favorite show and most of the people dont like it cuz they dont get the point and the books are better too i mean tvd is better than twilight in everything :)

Go team Damon! Twilight Sucks big time! Dude ! Vampires do not sparkle oops I shouldnt be calling it a vampire story even! Its about thiss stupid love betweeen stupid bella and edward!

I love The twilight Saga and The Vampire Diaries both. But if had too choose it would no hesitation The Vampire Diaries. Bella is a whiney do nothing and doesnt deserve either of them. LOL. Elena has a fully developed charecter while Bella is just a whiney begger. She does nothing but beg Edward too change her while Elena (Spoiler Alert) dies in a car crash with vampire blood in her system. L.J. Smith defanatley takess the 12 year cake while Stephine Myer is sitting around doing nothing with her 5 year old searies. Don't get me wrong I love them both, but The Vampire Diaries wins in my book.

I love The Vampire Diaries, books and TV show however the TV show is better than the books, although that might have something to do with Ian Somerhalder...swoon, and Paul Wesley. Love the Twilight Saga too. If I had to choose I think The Vampire Diaries, TV show would win hands down. Don't watch True Blood and am now really happy that Ian wasn't chosen! Phew!
Lin luvs Ian

I've read all of the books for VD, Twilight and Tru Blood. The True Blood books are probably the silliest of the 3. They are out there. I do enjoy them however and I will still continue to read new one's that come out though. The show is much different from the books. They are two separate entities completely.
The VD books are silly. They are probably the most child like. The show is definitely better than the books. I don't think Elena is any better than Bella though. I too agree she's quite whiney on the show and indecisive. Damon and Stefan are enjoyable to watch though. LOL.
I think the Twilight books are written the best. The movies are enjoyable as well, I'd say the VD show and the Twlight movies are about the same. I do like the possible explanation of the sparkling skin however I think it would be better if it had been written in. When it's not explained in the story it does seem quite silly. I'm also a little hesitant about not having fangs. I have read several vampire lore where they can walk during the day though so I do like that concept. Supposedly in bright sunlight they feel like they have bad sunburn. At least that's what I've read in other stories. Rob Pattison doesn't do it for me in other roles, but I definitely see the attraction in Edward.

In my opinion I dont like TB at all. I watched it and it was boring. In my ranking its 1.TVD 2. Twilight 3.Buffy 4. TB Dont like TB at all .Dont understand why so many adults like it guess theres nothng better to do......

I said ages 10-13... I didn't say 14.

I'm 14 and I watch TB, that has sex and blood in it.
I don't find anything weird or disturbing in TB. All my friends watch it..

Vampire Diaries Quotes

You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena.

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
