Following some heated negotiations with the cast, MTV says Jersey Shore will definitely be back for a new season later this year with all our favorites on hand.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed, although the gang had been holding for more than the $10,000 per episode the network offered before yesterday.
Either way, it's a done deal now, so get ready for plenty more memorable DJ Pauly D, Snooki, J-WOWW, Sammi, Ronnie, Vinny and The Situation quotes.
MTV said in a statement: “Our audience fell in love with Jersey Shore and its cast who really grew together as a family. That bond gives the show its heart."
"We’re thrilled to reunite these friends to bring fans what they love - laughs, love, drama and of course, GTL,” referring to gym, tanning and laundry, natch.
RUNNING IT BACK: Jersey Shore will be back for Season 2. Get psyched.
One new twist? The setting. Seaside Heights, N.J., is collectively fist-pumping right now, because the gang will apparently be “escaping the cold Northeast and finding themselves in a new destination,” MTV said in its statement announcing Season Two.
Virginia Beach, Va., Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Panama City, Fla., are wincing as we speak. Las Vegas? That we can see. If there's one town that can handle the guidos, it's Sin City.
While we eagerly await the second season, the network has a special surprise in store for you if you are longing for the Jersey Shore cast and require a more immediate fix:
MTV is airing a marathon of all Season 1 episodes next Sunday.
