Katharine McPhee got her start on the most popular TV show of all-time.
So it should be an easy transition to NBC, where no one will really watch her new sitcom.
The former American Idol finalist - who guests stars on the March 11 episode of Community and had a role in the movie The House Bunny - will anchor a pilot on the struggling network titled The Pink House.
It revolves around two guys in their 20s who move to Los Angeles. They rent a home on the beach and McPheee plays their neighbor, a fellow L.A. newbie.
The two lead roles have not been cast yet.
