I haven't been a fan of Izzie since season 4. In fact, she has been my least favorite main character on GA. I haven't missed izzie. I won't miss izzie. Bye izzie and don't let the door hit ya on the ass!

Izzie is a big fat baby...and really has gotten too big for her britches, as my mom would say.and I hope she falls on her conceited behind. Grey's made her, yet she can't remain loyal?? See ya Izz. Preston needs to come back. we need more of Meredith's dark and twisty side. New characters seem to bring the old ones to life, but we aren't seeing Alex, Meredith or really much of Christina. Who are we seeing?

Hey Jamie- I definitely noticed how Meredith has barely any storyline, and it's upsetting. I'm hoping she'll have a real wedding or get pregnant or just something!
I just started watching the show again back from the beginning and I was like dang, it was so good when it was just the interns and the few attendings- storylines. It sucks that they keep adding new characters and wrote off Izzie and George, considering they were a huge chunk of the storyline. According to so many articles, she wanted out so I guess she got what she wanted but it still sucks that they made her marry Alex and then fall off the face of the earth.
Anyway, I'll miss George and Izzie because they completed a perfect group of diverse friends. But yeah too much focus on Callie and Lexie and I'd rather see more Meredith/Derek and Cristina/Owen :)

I miss Izzie very much. I miss George even more. I do not agree however that Izzie's character should be given to someone else. I think that would ruin everything. If she absolutley has to go and there is absolutely no way to get her back, kill her off somehow. Find a way to bring George back. Or Dr. Burke. I believe it is a good time to bring him back considering Hunt has this little thing going on with Teddy. Christina needs someone to balance that relationship out. Im not so crazy over this season. I believe the writers need to pick it up because I don't even care if I miss an episode now, whereas the first seasons, I would have died.

I have no doubt in my mind that the show can make it without Izzie. I have'nt missed her, and I wont.. Show more of the struggles interns go through as residents.. Other than that I Love Season 6!! And Bye bye Izzie 23 of my friends dont even care for her...

I really liked Izzie as a character and katherine as an actress and i really thought that i would have missed her this season but i haven't. so i guess i don't care.

Does KH have her own production company? If I were a producer I would think carefully about employing KH if she doesn't honor contracts.

Shonda Rhimes said Katherine Heigl was due on set on March 1st, it's not Shonda's fault if Katherine couldn't be bothered in turning up and doing her job, she is lucky she wasn't fired, us mere mortals pull a stunt like that with our employers and we'd get fired on the spot. I don't think Katherine should be allowed to end her contract she should pay Shonda Rhimes and ABC compensation for her unprofessionalism. In this instance Katherine Heigl is totally unprofessional.
ABC and Shonda Rhimes should just recast the role of Isobel 'Izzie' Stevens. Give it to a new actress to breathe fresh air into, give Katherine Heigl the opportunity to go and continue with her movie career, people forget Katherine has been acting in movies since she was a teenager, her first movie was in 1992 when she was 14.
Give Izzie to Grey's Anatomy and give Katherine Heigl to the movie industry.

I don't know if you have noticed or not but the show has also got away from being about Meredith! I mean we hardly ever see her anymore... it has all become about Lexi, Mark, Calli, Teddy, Owen, and Christina! Meredith has just been pushed to the side... it's really starting to make me mad. I also agree with the person who said a show can survive the loss of one main character but 2 is just ratings suicide! I mean seriously! seriously! i understand that K.H. has wanted to leave for a long time but I blame it on the writers and producers as much as i blame her... I mean they are the ones who had kept blowing things way out of proportion and you know they could have just went ahead and let Izzie die in season 5 so that the whole ordeal was over but no they kept her on even though she didn't wanna stay! Anyway I have just about ha

I read elsewhere that KH hasn't returned to flim GA, is that correct? If true, the realtionships between KH and GA producers has really broken down. There will have to be major rewrites for so many characters to replace the Izzie storylines, I can't believe the producers would want this to happen.
I think GA lost Iz as a character during S4. I hated S5 cos there was too much Denny. I didn't cry once at izzie's illness, and I cry very easily at sad tv programmes. But I feel we're going to be denied Iz stirring things up for so many of SGH docs if she doesn't reappear. I'll be sad for that

The show could survive one main character leaving, but not Izzy as well... Do they really think they can fill the void with Teddy and Arizona??? Don't get me wrong, I like those characters but ever since Izzy went away I've been waiting for her return and now that it isn't coming I'm not sure if I want to keep supporting this show. DON'T KEEP CUTTING OUR FAVOURITE CHARACTERS!!!!

I totally agree with you McDreamyFace! We had enough of Stevens Anatomy in season 5. And seriously this is NOT Shonda's fault, it was KH that didn't show up for work after her maternity leave. Shonda said that KH was going to return, and she didn't, so it is on her! She wanted out so I am glad they let her go, enough with her bitchness.. she can go and do her romantic fluffy movies now!

I think Shonda should've killed her off in the season 5 finale. It would've been better and easier. George should've stay mangle and in a coma and died in episode 2 or 3 of season 6

You know what is the problem with KH is that she doesn't know how to give her opinion without coming out as a bitch.
When she was talking about the long hours that they were working at GA, she was joking because GA is not the only show whose actors work for 16-17 hours a day. She is not a comedian, therefore the joke wasn't funny, so it came out as a complain. When KH came out against IW, she should've stay out of it at least publicly just like everybody else did. She should've been there for TRK privately, not publicly. When she withdrew her name from the Emmy, she should've blamed herself not the writers even if was true that the writer didn't give her a good material. She should've said that she felt she didn't give a good performance to deserve a Emmy nomination. She came out as arrogant bitch that blamed others.
So that is the problem with her. She needs to learn how to be diplomatic about her opinions. This is a business about egos and if don't appease those ego publicly

Kh is very lucky to have a film career waiting for her. What's happened to TR and the bloke who played Burke? Many actors contracted to a tv series are blighted with being type cast. I find it hard to watch PD in other things I keep looking for Meredith (sad I know).
KH is a romcom actress who'll make a good living at that if she has a fan base that will go to her films.
Izzie's optomism and positive view on life was very much a contrast to Mer, Cris and Alex's view on things.But Iz was a good counter balance for this. Mer's not in such a dark place anymore so things have evolved without Iz. Shame really cos I would have been interested to see if Alex and iz would have drifted back together again

People the show is about Meredith and her woes not Izzie. It's Grey's Anatomy not Stevens Anatomy. And the writers should get back to basic and focus more on Meredith again, maybe bring in a real wedding for Derek and Meredith, make it a surprise wedding on Derek's property, make it so secret that Meredith and Derek are told there's something going on at Derek's property that needs both of your attention, Derek and Meredith turn up to the property, they spot this white ribbon tied to a tree they approach it and notice that there's a message telling them to stay on the path, when they reach the end they find themselves in a clearing where an alter has been erected with a justice of the peace standing there and he/she asks I have one question are you ready to be married for real, there is a split second of panic on Mer's face til she says I am so ready to make my post-it wedding a real wedding.

I have to say I wish they would just end the show with next season. Maybe the writers could plan a little and get back to the things that made this show so interesting. It wasn't just about the Medical Cases, and it wasn't just about their love lives - it was about how to be an intern and deal with all of these things. There is no obstacle now for the characters. There is nothing they have to prove really as Residents. I am not a writer but I think they need to get together and figure out how to end this show and bring it back to its former glory on its way out.

This show is SO over. They haven't given Heigl anything good in YEARS. She's been gone so long now ... Izzie who? Grey's won't be on much longer, the creator is moving on to a new medical drama, so say your good byes fans.

I hope that he negative attitude and bratty behavior are reflected in her oh-so-precious movie career. At this point, there's nothing I'd like better than for her career to tank and for her to disappear. It's not like her movies are more than fluff. The Ugly Truth was one of the worst things I've ever seen, and I certainly won't put another dime in this slag's pocket. Grey's Anatomy can only improve with her absence.

kinda sad. but not surprised. she hasn't been in a lot of eposides this season so you not going to miss her much. but i love izzie. i live in ireland so don't hear a lot about on set drama unless i see it here, so her leaving is sad for me.
