Dancing with the Stars returned with quickstepping, waltzing, paso doble-ing madness last night, and the couples you'd expect to shine pretty much came through.

Those you expected to bomb lived up to expectations as well, and the middle tier racked up a ton of 6s and 7s from the judges in week three. So who's in danger.

If last week's wholly unwarranted Shannen Doherty elimination taught us anything, it's that you never can tell where the chips will fall in this popularity contest.

We can tell you, however, that Olympic champion Evan Lysacek and partner Anna Trebunskaya are safe after smoking the competition with a 26 on the quickstep.

Also in the clear? Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The hottest and one of the most popular couples on the show overcame adversity and came in second.

It was Evan Lysacek, Anna Trebunskaya and then everyone else.

The aforementioned and pictured pair, Erin and Maksim, along with Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough are looking safe this evening. You just never know beyond that.

Kate Gosselin and Buzz Aldrin were predictably bad, but there's certainly a lot of room for voters to yank someone else from the stage, given what we saw with Shannen.
