Jack kills about 40 people in 6 hours and he walks away with the president's blessing. Why not throw a parade first? The writing in the final season was awful, with each move Jack made more absurd than the first.

I will miss this show a LOT. There is a hole in my Monday night heart where 24 used to be. Agree - Jack & Chloe were the proper way to end as their relationship totally defined the show. Well done to one and all - you gave us some insight and made us question things in the messed up crazy world in which we live, and brought it to a close in touching way reminding us of what it's really all about - trust, loyalty, and caring.

I haven't followed 24 much over the past few years and tuned in to the series finale more out of curiosity than loyalty. Not being a fan I wasn't overly concerned with the subplots, but was hoping for and rewarded with a satisfying Jack-Chloe resolution (of sorts.) For all the senseless violence and yelling throughout the 8 seasons, ultimately we were left with the goodness of Jack-Chloe's friendship as the enduring theme of this show. In my mind I'll remember 24 because of how these two characters interacted more than anything else.
