Voiceovers is Grey's Anatomy right from Season 1, you can't get rid of them.

And Bailey was brave, for a proud professional woman to say to the shooter "I'm a nurse", would have been the hardest thing Bailey may have done, but she not only saved her life by doing so, she saved her patient Mary's life by thinking fast and telling the girl to play dead, in real life how many of you would have let out a yelp of some sort, when he pulled the sheet back then go into the bathroom and shoot Dr Percy after he said he was a surgeon, Bailey knew if she admitted she was a surgeon the shooter would have shot her too and in that split second she was a person a mother protecting her life. Charles even told Bailey that she was smart for telling the shooter she was a nurse. No I really don't think saying she was a nurse will bother Bailey too much, I think the fact she held Charles in her lap while he died not being able to save him will cut at her more, then what her lie would ever do.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Justin CHambers for an Emmy. He has gotten soooo good over the last season and was great the other night. Chandra was amazing, as well. Loved the scene where she said she was a nurse. And when she's working on the Wester and says, "Where's this water coming from?" and Mandy Moore says, "You're crying." ha! One of the few funny moments in the episode.

I can't believe no one seems to have mentioned, as the saddest moment, when Dr Bailey says "I'm a nurse!" She denies who she is. She is going to be dealing her internal fallout from that for the rest of her life. As a professional woman in a hardass occupation, she has fought so hard and sacrificed so much to be that surgeon. And sure she has the inner resources to be able to forgive herself, eventually--but it will still break her heart, over and over, for a long time to come. Chandra Wilson is the one who deserves the Emmy. And please, please, if any of the show's writers are listening, please no voiceovers. We hate them-- I, my daughter, my daughter's friends, my friends; my daughter stopped watching because of the voiceovers. They are so insulting to our intelligence. Ugh, blech, argh. Sometimes I want to hit mute or leave the room, from the voiceovers. I do hit mute when it's just the final voiceover and it looks like I won't miss any actual dialogue.

    1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the episode? Meredith's yet again attempt to jump off the cliff and save people. But now, the people she wanted to save are not mere strangers or paramedics, they were the people the loves: "You want justice right? Your wife died, I know what happened. Derek told me the story. Lexie Grey is the one that pulled the plug on your wife, she's my sister. Dr. Webber, he was your wife's doctor. I'm the closest thing he has to a daughter. And the man on the table, I'm his wife. If you wanna hurt them, the way that you hurt, shoot me. I'm your eye for an eye."

The romantic in me also loved the "Kiss me." line of Derek.

    2. Was this the best episode of the year - and/or the whole series?
This is certainly the most action-packed episode. It sent me at the edge of my seat, I screamed and I bit my nails and even the tip of my fingers. But Grey's Anatomy really has that effect on me. Whether it was Denny's death and Meredith and Derek havi

    1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the episode?

I really liked hearing Derek's speech to Mr.Clark when he was pleading for his life. I think it made it more powerful that even McDreamy is only human.

    2. Was this the best episode of the year - and/or the whole series?

I think this was the most intense episode of the year, it definitely had me waiting for more the whole time even though i had seen the sneak peeks and had a general idea of what was to happen. Out of the whole series i definitely have a few other episodes that are my favorites but this easily takes a second or third place.

    3. Mr. Clark on the loose: Well-written and emotional, or contrived and manipulative?

While i do understand where people are coming from by saying that it was lazy writing and had no character development i believe the opposite. I think it showed some amazing character growth in subtle ways such as Cristina willing to risk her life for Derek, also Cristina breaking up wi

Does Alex's call out to Izzie leave a chance for some at least guest appearances of Izzie - I would love that. And I love when the story line has Meredith and Derek reaffirm their love - so romantic

    1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the episode?

    a) Richard: "This is my hospital."

    b) Meredith: "Look, it took me a long time to find him, and even longer to realize that I wanted him. Wanted to be married to him, to be his wife, to have his kids. And now that I finally realize that, he's in there on a table, and my best friend's hands are inside his chest." I think Meredith grows so much in this episode.

    2. Was this the best episode of the year - and/or the whole series?

Definitely the best episode of the year, and of the whole series. People keep comparing it to the season 2 finale, but that episode didn't involve as many characters, and didn't have the same emotion or drama. This finale really was a "game-changer" for everyone, and you felt for every single character, whether they were sobbing over someone else's dying body, or they were about to be shot. It was about everyone, and you felt like you were part of the story. Plus, obviously the episode whe

    @ M.L. House

The story lines that were meant to tug at our heart strings weren't about the shooter.

They were about Alex being still in love with Izzie and Lexie not knowing who to choose between him and Mark.

They were about Bailey showing her human side when she said she was not a surgeon but a nurse to save herself.

They were about Cristina loving Owen and Owen finally realizing she was the one he loved, not Teddy.

They were about Callie and Arizona learning to put their differences aside in order to be together because that was what really mattered to them.

They were about Meredith finally maturing into the person she wanted to be, Derek's wife and mother of his child and seeing that all almost taken from her in front of her and not being able to do anything to stop that.

All of the above story lines have been developing over the last few years, not weeks. Yes, did it take a shooter on the loose to bring it all to focus, but that was his only purpose. Shonda co

Your comment makes no sense? Absent With Out Leave = AWOL - Where does that fit in to the season finale.

    1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the episode?

    * CALLIE: I DON'T WANT TO HAVE KIDS IF IT MEANS I CAN'T BE WITH YOU!

*MERREDITH'S VOICEOVER IN THE BEGINNING AND END OF THE SEASON FINALE PART 1.

    2. Was this the best episode of the year - and/or the whole series?

*BY FAR THE BEST EPISODE THIS SEASON! COMPARING IT TO OTHER SEASON FINALES, RIGHT UP THERE WITH SEASON 2!

    3. Mr. Clark on the loose: Well-written and emotional, or contrived and manipulative?

*EXTREMELY EMOTIONAL AND WELL-WRITTEN. I COULD TOTALLY SEE THAT ON THE BIG SCREEN!

    4. What were the saddest and most uplifting moments of the finale?

*SADDEST: BAILEY REALIZES SHE CANNOT SAVE CHARLES AND SHE AND PATIENT MARY STAY BY HIS SIDE AS HE DIES.

*SADDEST: CALLIE TRIES TO COMFORT THE CHILD AND ARIZONA JUST AFTER THE SHOOTER LEAVES THEM.

    * MERREDITH'S MISCARRIAGE.

    *UPLIFTING: CALLIE & ARIZONA RECONCILE!

    5. Which actor/actress' performance was most Emmy-worthy?

    CHANDRA

  12. Psychodrew

    1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the episode?

Christina told Meredith: "I can't talk right now. I'm trying to save your guy. Please go try and save mine."

    2. Was this the best episode of the year - and/or the whole series?

Best ever. The range of emotions among the range of characters. It was amazing. Great writing can overcome an unrealistic storyline and they accomplished that hands down.

    3. Mr. Clark on the loose: Well-written and emotional, or contrived and manipulative?

Well-written and emotional. The storyline was a bit unrealistic for a bunch of reasons, but the writers over-came that with incredible dialogue and acting. It was a big risk and they really pulled it off.

    4. What were the saddest and most uplifting moments of the finale?

The saddest moment for me was Percy's death. Yeah, he's a big jerk and he was never going to be a long term character, but watching him slip away in Dr. Bailey's arms as he professed his love to a co

My favorite scene was Bailey in the hallway. She realizes the elevators are off and just breaks down. WOW! And then when she is holding Percy as he dies. That was very emotional for me. She so deserves an Emmy (as does Sandra!).
My second favorite scene was when we think Der is dying and the realize that Avery took off the plugs. Brilliant!!

    1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the episode?

Derek's "I'm human, I'm flawed. I make mistakes." For someone who used to have a God complex this is big.

    2. Was this the best episode of the year - and/or the whole series?

One of the best of the whole series, that's for sure. It was well made, which had been lacking slightly this season. See what happens when the focus is on the right characters?

    3. Mr. Clark on the loose: Well-written and emotional, or contrived and manipulative?

Contrived and manipulative. I felt more sympathy for William Dunn than for him. He wasn't being a man, he was being a coward.

    4. What were the saddest and most uplifting moments of the finale?

Saddest - Meredith throwing her pregnancy test away. The miscarriage was sad but this really hit me bad. Also, when Mer thought Derek had died.

Uplifting - The moment Cristina saved Derek and everyone was able to breathe again.

    5. Which actor/actress' performance was

    1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the episode?

    Meredith: Shoot me.
Meredith: You want justice right? Your wife died, I know what happened. Derek told me the story. Lexie Grey is the one that pulled the plug on your wife, she's my sister. Dr. Webber, he was your wife's doctor. I'm the closest thing he has to a daughter. And the man on the table, I'm his wife. If you wanna hurt them, the way that you hurt, shoot me. 2. Was this the best episode of the year - and/or the whole series?

It was by far my favorite. I've read other people's comments about the SWAT team taking too long, and knowing that Derek wouldn't die, blah blah blah. I loved theses two episodes. They were dramatic, they were scary, and they kept me on the very edge of my seat. I sat farther than 2 inches from the TV all night, it's was insane! The acting was great...Ellen Pompeo and Sandra Oh were AMAZING. The last time they shot down an attending, I didn't care as muc

Cristina to Meredith hope it has he's hair, Meredith to Cristina me too.

    2. Was this the best episode of the year - and/or the whole series?

I felt it was riviting viewing, season 6 dealt with a lot of things it's been an up and down season first we lost George O'Malley, then Izzie left then came back then left again. I love the character focussed episodes Alex, Arizona, Derek and Owen, the flaskback episode was great that it showed us when Dr Webber started drinking and why. More flashbacks as Seattle Grace Mercy West is a teaching Hospital. Want to see Mandy again, and young Richard and Ellis see there affair blossom and maybe introduce a young Adele coming to the hospital looking for her husband.

    3. Mr. Clark on the loose: Well-written and emotional, or contrived and manipulative?

Shonda did a wonderful job, you know Mr Clark is grieving and he blames the surgeons for killing his wife, the other people

About the question asking wheter we think that Mer is gonna tell Derek about the misgarriage my answer is yes and no...
At first, she won't tell him (in order to protect him)..she will want to spare him the pain of knowing that he almost became a father..and also the fact that Mer had to handle all this story by herself..if she tells him right away he might also feel guilty..why? well because obviously the miscarriage was caused by the hell of a stress she underwent..and he might feel guilty because if he didn't become the chief of surgery all of this might just not have happened..
but a few days later she will tell him..she will tell him because she won't be able to keep this huge secret from him..or one of the few people aware of the situation will give up the word to derek (by mistake of course)..that could be the best scenario..Meredith acting weird and derek asking around trying to figure out what's wrong with his beloved post-it wife...

Anyway he will know sooner or later..

Bailey's scenes gave me chills and made me cry, and were the most believable. We saw this character at her lowest point and were right there with her. The screams that came out of her when she realized the elevators were off gave me goosebumps. Emmy.

Meredith's miscarriage was sooo sad! :(
Sandra Oh is SO worthy of an Emmy! And Meredith crying for her not to stop working on her husband! Heartbreaking! And Chandra Wilson deserves it too!

Totally don't care for M.L. House's comments. This was the best episode ever. Totally had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It kinda felt like a movie to me. I loved April in this episode, I can't wait for next season when Jackson and April are more integrated into the group!

  23. BurkeComplex

This Season Finale made me cry after a year without crying. I hadn't been crying for about a year but when Dr. Bailey started crying and yelling about the elevators, I too started crying and couldn't stop. This is by far the best finale ever written. Too dark, too intense, too emotional -yet sometimes extremely predictable- and totally "grey's". I'm still shocked.

I will never forget the closet scene where Cristina tries to stop Meredith but she takes her down with her tiny strong arms.

I will never forget Dr.Bailey being pulled from under the bed, seeing her cowardly lying as she looks at the shooter with eyes begging for life.

I will never forget ten thousand moments from this season finale.

    Thank you.
