Grey's Anatomy Season Finale Plot Details, Teasers

We've heard a lot of hype but relatively few details about the Grey's Anatomy season finale coming our way in just two weeks. So what actually happens on May 20?
Never one to let a day go by without relentlessly plugging the hit series she created back in 2005, Shonda Rhimes has more to share about the Season Six finale today:
“The theme of the first hour is sanctuary, which sort of uses the idea that the hospital is our characters’ safest place and our safest place as viewers,” Rhimes tells EW.
Bailey must make the toughest decision of all.
“[Then we go on to use] the hour to slowly turn all that on its head [so] that by the end, the hospital is definitely kind of the least safe place in the world.”
“The second hour,” she continues, “is about choices, and we get to watch our characters make big ones. Lexie chooses between Mark and Alex. Owen chooses between Teddy and Cristina, and Bailey faces the hardest medical choice that a doctor has to make."
"And the other choice that’s being made is Callie and Arizona, and whether or not they’re going to be together or not. It IS going to come down to the baby thing.”
Also, Meredith is going to have a lot going on in the finale. Trust us.

Here are my thoughts on the Season Finale possibilities for Grey's Anatomy:
April will mostly likely be the arsonist setting the house on fire in an attempt to kill Meredith and to get closer to Derek, but she fails.
I believe there are many possibilities on who GETS shot. It could be Derek because of the situation with Gary Clark. It could be the Chief. It could be Hunt because of the love triangle between him, Yang and Teddy. I doubt Cristina would be shot or Meredith because she's preggo. There is also a good possibility that Ben(Bailey's Boyfriend) will be shot and die.
As for who the shooter is, there is a better than average chance that it is going to be Mr. Clark, but you have to remember that Shonda doesn't go for the absolute obvious. She likes making us think about whats going to happen and thats what I love about her, so to say it's absolute that Mr. Clark is the shooter would be stupid.

This is going to sound off the wall but this is what
i think. Lexie chooses neither Alex or Mark so.....
Mark and Callie will have a baby together. I think
that Dr Weber will die (no good storyline) but Derek
will be severely injured - possibly in a coma or
paralyzed. I personally think Teddy and Owen will
drive off into the sunset together never to be seen
again. Then Cristina should hook up with Avery.

Also, Patrick Dempsey a/k/a Derek is going to be in the Transformers 3 movie so he might be done with Grey's. Another option is that he has had a big role becoming Chief and maybe that is why they did not mention him for the Finale. Maybe Richard is the one that gets shot, not much left for him on Grey's. Lots to think about.

I think the guy suing Derek is going to go nuts and shoot Derek. I think Meredith finds out she is pregnant (the pregnancy test) and Derek gets killed. Would like to see Lexie with Mark.

i dont think the person that goes crazy is april. the man whose wife died has way more of a motive..he already showed us his bad temper...he is really out to get derek. i think this man does something to the hospital, and more directly, our poor mcdreamy:(
meredith has a lot to deal with; i agree i think her house burns down.that would be very sad because she grew up there, all her memories of her mother would be gone forever and thats where george and izzie and herself started out together too:(
the pic on this site that shows meredith and april sat on the floor together is also a sign that april is not the one that goes nuts. plus DID ANYONE NOTICE BLOOD ON HER SNEAKERS??
and while wearing scrubs, meredith has tears in her eyes. i was thinking maybe she would have to try to save derek's life...but thats hard to say because i dont think anyone would let her work on him. thoughts??

I could be reading too much into it, but if Lexie has to choose between Mark and Alex and there are spoiler pics of her outside crying and Mark comforting her. Doesn't that mean there is a good chance she chooses him, especially if there is a hostage situation.

ive changed my mind. i think it will be mer's house that burns down, then mer/der can begin house building. maybe callie is involved in the hostage situation and arizona realises how much she would do to have callie. i agree with wyomom, it will probably be the crazy guy who's wife died with the gun out to get derek..maybe some of the mercy westers, or the gasman die ? some of them are definately leaving.

Here's what Shonda says about the finale and Meredith's story:
"I am not trying to shake up whether or not Meredith is happy," Rhimes says. That's not to say Mer won't go through some drama in the finale, which Rhimes describes as "very different" from the five previous season-enders. The first hour alone will apparently leave your jaw on the floor.
Can't wait for the finale!!
