When we left House on this week's emotional episode, he had given up on therapy and come to this disturbing conclusion:

Despite all his season six progress, the dour doctor was not any happier than he was when hooked on Vicodin.

How will this revelation play out on next week's finale? The opening couple minutes of "Help Me" depicts House in a troubled state, just a few hours after he presents Cuddy with the gift of her great-grandfather's book.
