Cristian de la Fuente has signed on for the role of Eric Rodriguez on Private Practice, EW reports. He'll play a self-possessed, confident, funny and attractive new doctor.

Sounds like quite a catch!

De la Fuente, who earned a bronze medal in Season Six of Dancing With the Stars, and has recently been on In Plain Sight, will first appear in October or November.

No word on whose heart he will send racing, but the initial character breakdown may contain a clue: PP producers noted that prospective candidates must be 5’11″.

Apropos of probably nothing: Kate Walsh is 5'9". Just saying. Private Practice premieres a week from tomorrow, September 23, after the opener of Grey's Anatomy.
