mark's a little bitch............
err how could the donor of money be Izzie? She used all of her money from Denny on the clinic.
dont really care abt mark's opininon abt alex...mark can suck his dick(all offense intended)....u wanna take a character like alex down, even shonda cant even do it....at this point, no one can fill up his character's position...its the truth...mark can grow his beard all he wants, root against alex all he wants...he will just be a man whore...get someone else to counter alex...mark is a little bitch when compared to alex....stupid little good for nothing bitch....deal with it shonda
I remember that Lexie came in new and was an intern and Meredith was ahead of her. I just thought that when the Mercy West students came, they were ALL interns, too. Like for example Steve (dark, curly hair, cute, timid) -- I'm amazed I missed this thing that April & Jackson were ahead of Lexie. DOH! (that's my Homer Simpson noise). Well, next time I watch the whole show over from beginning to now, I need to watch for this!
1. april talks too much.
2. hasn't meredith had her solo surgery before? i can't really remember.. i thought i remember derek giving it to her to cheer her up before or something..
3. why are these attendings so unprofessional in their pitches to the chief? why do they have to bring their sex lives and relationship issues into work?
4. loved the look of pride in derek when he saw meredith's successful surgery
If I'm not mistaken, Lexie was introduced to us in season 3 as a new, incoming intern just as Meredith and crew passed the resident examination (if you'll recall, George failed which is why he was working so closely with Lexie) so Lexie isn't on the same level as Meredith, Alex and Cristina though she is very smart. Also, Jackson and April are 4th year residents -- they transferred from Mercy West and if you'll recall the Seattle Grace residents were worried about being pushed out of the program to accommdate the Mercy Westers but this never happened. Jackson and April are in the same year but clearly the MW program wasn't as strong as the SG program. Hope this helps :)
I liked the episode. I really liked that we got to see kick-ass surgeon Meredith again -- it was LONG overdue. I also LOVED witnessing Derek admire his wife's ability in the OR. I'm happy the Chief challenged his attendings. After all, Seattle Grace is a teaching hospital and Richard has more experience than his attendings. It is his job to continue teaching them and pushing them to help them better even better doctors. I think that's what the challenge did. I'm also glad that he choose Owen's proposal over Derek's. If he had chosen Derek's it would have been predictable especially since the Chief sees Meredith as the daughter he never had from the woman he onced loved. Choosing her health would have been the obvious choice. Choosing Owen's proposal was smart. Not only does it train the doctors to assist others in traumatic situations, it will bond them all in a way that they need right now. They are still healing and this may give them the tools they need to fully recover.
Can anyone explain to me why Lexie was not allowed to act as an attending but that April and Jackson were? I thought they were in the same year as Lexie??? Someone said something about being a fourth-year resident to get to play attending, right? I would really like someone to clarify this for me. I've watched it twice but still have not picked up the reason for this.
If Shonda gives Mer alzheimer's after all the crap she's already been through, Grey's is going to end very depressing, and I honestly till not watch those episodes. I watch TV to escape from depressing stuff, not see more of it.
I want my TV shows to end happily, with people happy and healthy,NOT with main characters who have had nothing but crap rain on their head for much of their life get struck down by an incurable, debilitating disease. :(
If Mer's gonna get Alzheimer's, I'm actually considering stopping watching Grey's now, so I can just remember the happy stuff.
I think the 'competetion for the $1m' was a bit of a fake. The chief wanted something to show the camera crew (who are gonna give it as their payment for the documentary). Owen's winning entry was a response to the shooting. But for me it felt too much like a military planned response to an emergency. Would Bailey really have found an alternate route to drag a dying man to get him to surgery? IMO , no.
But the writers now have to have 5 residents in their 4th year doing solo surgeries as well as the attendings. BAiley and Callie were doing surgery all the time on their own in their 4th year. It's gonna be a struggle to fit the 4th year residents doing that in S7. The cast is too big. Webber as the chief won't be a sugical regular, but there are now 13 surgeons. I really think the adding of Avery and Kepner made the cast too big.
betcha Mer's pregnant and has pregnancy brain!!! Don't think they'll give her Alzheimer's unless the show is wrapping up...what a downer!!
Hated Callie and Arizona being so competitive with each other and point scoring rather than supporting each other...what a crap thing for a couple to do!
Love that Cristina is getting her mojo back and have loved Owen since he pulled the icicle out her chest!
Can I just say that there is NOTHING about this April character that I like. I can't even stand the sound of her voice. I am starting to think that the reason she is on the show is to just annoy me.
That being said, the look on Derek's face when he saw Meredith pulling off the surgery without a hitch is why I have been watching this show since Meredith declared that she was "screwed" in this game of surgery on "A Hard Day's Night". Well done, Shonda!
Now, please go get rid of April!!!!
Ooops should say 'me' not 'men' lol,i am female btw!
Definitely think the million the Chief promised is going to be the payment for the tv crew and the documentary. This was kind of hinted at in his discussion with Bailey when she questioned the lack of funds and he simply said things will be abit different over the next few weeks. I also think the money is coming from the tv crew as Richard gave it to Hunt because Hunt made him feel guilty about the events, especially by mentioning Bailey and Charles. Thus the Chief figured that the money from the documentary would be best spent on training the staff should a similar situation occur in the future.
One thing that does annoy men about Greys is the tendency not to repeat a snazzy new procedure which may have been the focus of the entire episode ever again and the failing to mention huge past events. I mean trauma training is not a bad idea considering the hospital could have been blown up in a past season. Also after all the fuss about getting the man on the transplant list for lungs this
I get that the Chief wanted them to compete for the money, Callie was the freaking best trying to psych them all out but why was Arizona in the race? Didn't she just last season get a 25 million endowment from the couple that lost their son? While they all have good reasons for the money to me Bailey and Owen had the best reasons. I would have split the money between the two to be honest. As a mom myself.. Bailey hit it on the money.
Loved that Jackson got a little perspective, Alex rocked and so did Mer! I heart poor Lexie because she really did have the short end of the stick! I wish they would put Mark and Lexie back together already!
April is sweet but to be honest to me she is an unnecessary character.
I'm pretty sure the money will come from the documentary crew that is in the next episode's preview. They're probably being paid for it.
No idea if anyone alreayd mentioned this, as I haven't read through the comments yet.
I love what they are doing with the Alzheimer's storyline with Meredith...very good, I always knew this would come up again near the end of the series...I love it. I can't wait to see how this storyline unfolds. I was a little scared when Mer didn't realize that her keys were in her hand...Is is affecting her already. Aww, how sad would it be if Mer had her baby and she didn't realize it or her own husband, Derek? Aww, I think this will push Derek to push and start the clinical trial to cure Alzheimer's disease.
I liked the Christina stuff this episode as well! And all of the meetings with the Chief were great! Especially Bailey's and Arizona's. I think the money should have gone to Derek...did not see Hunt getting it at all, though I realize he made a good point, while all the others were for more personal reasons.
IMO, no. The biggest payoff in patient care would've been Arizona's or even Mark's to an extent (with additional revenue, according to the Chief, Peds & Plastics are his 'revenue centers', although for most hospitals Neuro & Cardio are the biggest 'revenue centers').
To me it felt that Owen was trying to erase his guilt for his lack of help during the shooting. He said that they all needed better Trauma training. Not true. They all thought out of the box and stepped up.
I have to agree with Uniquely Yours. Teddy blabbed her whole presentation about how Derek didn't work as a surgeon and teacher because he tried to fire her. Teddy was like that resentful girl who got a chance to revenge but backfired. She isn't a surgeon either. She's pathetic.
uhh I sooo disagree. I absolutly loved this episode, it was one of the best ones I've seen in a while. Season seven has been fantastic so far and after the absolute major LET DOWN of season six, it's about time.
What Derek said brought me to tears. About Merideth having alzhiemers to the cheif, it was soooo sad :'( I disagree with the reviewer though, I reallly don't think they're going to give Merideth alzheimers, I mean she's like thirty something right? Can you actually get it THAT young?
I love what's happening with Owen and Christina, that like revesel of roles. It's the best
Jo: What is interesting about your comment is that Teddy spoke of personal issues, too, yet you don't have a problem with that. Let's call a spade a spade - seems to me that you have an issue with the characters sexual orientation. That's okay - it's your right. But to say that they don't act like surgeons is ridiculous. Certainly this is not the first episode of Grey's you have watched...or is it? Thank goodness Callie and Arizona have a strong fan base. They will be here to stay as long as the show runs. Handle it. Oh...and check your statistics about the viewership...other than the season finale, the viewership was not at 15 million last year either. However, Grey's continues to beat the competition in the most important demographics for its time period - adults 18-49. How 'pathetic' of you to try to blame any Grey's ratings issue on one couple - the gay one.
I don't think she has it but it would be interesting if they keep making her forget things Derek will get more worried and thinking she sick. Derek worries alot about her
Nice episode but i would agree it left me wanting for something more..
Loved Callie this time! Loved her manipulative tactics over her colleagues! Arizona was cute as ever dealing with her "Facing The Authority Figure" issues... though i m still really not seeing what would make AZ leave as J-Cap's maternity leave episodes are drawing near..
I really Really Hope Mer doesn't have Alzheimer! that wud be a bummer! hopefully key forgetting is just a normal thing like we all do! I do that with my shades all the time! but yeah that fear in Derek made his project more appealing.. though sad that he didn't get the million dollars....... but as Bailey said .. nothing would have happened in just a mil!
Finally THANK GOD Cristina is coming back to herself! Hope fully she would be back to her Robot surgery hungry self in no time! and I don't find Teddy Bashing ok! She was being a mentor! she was pushing xtina to get her overcome PTSD and it helped.. way to Go Altman! Hope to see more abou
i actuallyy emjoyedd this episodee i didnt think i would like it but i didid it wass sooo gooodd (: Dereks speach about the Alzheimers broke my heartt i had tears in my eyess and then when mer couldnt find her eys when they were in her hand so sadd:(
but im fifteen years old and i do that all timee lookin for my cell phone and its in my hands i do it all the timme but im fine but its just because her mother had alzheimers is whyy theree doing thatt and its really sadd cas if that continues then it will get sadder and sadder
but know how she got her blood taken for the gene of Alzheimers we never found out abouttt ? im just soo curiouss
I'm so happy for Mer's solo-surgery and Alex's solo-surgery were awesome and i hope that we can see their again in the or .naturally togheter Cri.In this episode i saw that IF SHONDA WANTS ,SHONDA DOES .In few words ,in the first season Mer supportes Derek in the or ,now Derek sees Mer in the solo-surgery.The Alzheimer -story is very strong for a woman that during her small life saw too much things. She leaf by her father and her mother did not give an easy-life,her mother's suicide and her suicide, her mother's alzheimer and her father's alcolism, incapacity of relashionship .Now she discovers to have a hostile uterous and she cannot have the alzheimer ,too.Shonda 's destroying her creature ,if so it 'd be .I don't believe that the Mer's storyline is this ,this means a slow death of the character and i breaks my heart!!!!!!!!!!
April and Teddy go uot ,pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee her character are boring too much ,i'm disappointed for Jackson.
We have forgotten the old Mark ,he is now i
for goodness sakes- kick out arizona and callie- they are just pathetic.
they do not portray surgeons realistically. they are meant to be serious surgeons who were heads of their departments and had to discuss options for a million dollar grant with their chief. but instead they acted like complete morons: callie talking to the chief about her sex life and her lesbian lifestyle and how she used to like men and arizona kept talking about crying in front of the chief. i think out of all of the attendings- the chief was most disgusted by these two. at least teddy, derek and owen (who did brilliantly) tried. i'm sorry to all their fans but callie and arizona do not protray surgeons realistically. i know that the show is not completely realistic but i skip arizona scenes because she does not protray a doctor in a good manner. in fact she does a disservice to doctors in general. and the ratings - i head the viewership was 10 million only- woah just last year it was 15 million on average. t
