He isn't as pretty as Eliza Dushku, but Keith Carradine should have The Big Bang Theory fans excited for other reasons.

The long-time actor will appear on a November episode of this CBS hit as Penny's father, Michael Ausiello reports, following the show's tradition of picking impressive talent for the parents of its main character (see Baranski, Christine as Leonard's mom).

A veteran of the small screen, Carradine most recently recurred on Damages and Dexter. No word yet on what brings him into town on The Big Bang Theory.
