Shonda Rhimes' new medical drama (this makes three) is coming in two months. Off the Map premieres Wednesday, January 12 on ABC, and we've got the first promo here!

The creator of Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice has taken her newest cast of doctors all the way to South America, where they'll be working to save those truly in need.

Off the Map stars Enrique Murciano, former Grey’s Anatomy doc Jason George, Caroline Dhavernas, Rachelle Lefevre, Zach Gilford and others. Here's your very first look ...

Steve Marsi is the Managing Editor of TV Fanatic. Follow him on Google+ or email him here.

Caroline Dhavernas is back and I'm so happy even like a bunch of people I hope to see her becoming an A list actress in Hollywood. She deserves it she's such an amazing actress. I was looking at the beginning of the map for Martin Henderson, Caroline Dhavernas and Zach Gilford but I must said Caroline Dhavernas steals the show she's an amazing actress. When she's not on the screen the show is not worthy and when she's on screen it changes everything.
I'm just shocked to see how someone can bring so much to a show.

the guy that bailey was dating - is he keeping the same character on the new show? if so then there will be opportunities for cross-episodes!

For people talking about Shonda using the same extras on both shows...I think it's an ABC thing. I've started catching up and watching Castle and I notice a lot of the extras we've seen on Grey's and PP being used on there as well. It's slightly odd when I remember that person and their storyline on Grey's or PP.

Shonda is amazing!!! Shes only the executive producer of this show but im still gonna watch!! cant wait!!

I'm fan of GA S1,S2,S5 and so far S7's good, but I don't often watch PP GA,PP's hired lots of amazing actors ,should be focused on making good script for them, not developing new drama now

NEVER FORGET Grey`s is the ORIGINAL!!...:)

I will give it a try and watch 1 or 2 episodes.
Some of you are really overreacting - Grey's is better than ever (by "ever" I mean season 4 - 6). Shonda knows how to do her job, you don't need to tell her.

You people need to relax. Shonda is only the executive producer and wont be as involved in Off the Map as she is with Greys and PP. And anyways I for one cant wait for this show to start. It sounds pretty awesome. And why another medical drama you might ask....Well all i have to say is why mess with success. Greys is better than ever this season. I mean true it dipped a little around season 4 but i mean seriously?? it was still awesome and is just as good as it was during season 2. lovelovelove it

Shonda is amazing and i love both private practice and greys anatomy. In case you guys havent noticed, greys anatomy has been better than ever this seasons and private practice has been really good as well. I mean seriously...anything related to Shonda Rhimes is destined to be amazing!!!

This is a seriously BAD idea. Grey's is in its 7th year, and PP in its 4th. Diverting yet more attention away from focusing on Grey's and PP is downright idiotic, sorry Shonda. You've really done a number on this show, are you trying to completely kill it now? Some people don't realize they have a good thing til it's gone. I have no interest in ANOTHER Grey's/PP and I'd be willing to bet that the majority of the rest of the fans agree.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

Lexie: [narrating] Grief may be a thing we all have in common, but it looks different on everyone.
Mark: It isn't just death we have to grieve. It's life. It's loss. It's change.
Alex: And when we wonder why it has to suck so much sometimes, has to hurt so bad. The thing we gotta try to remember is that it can turn on a dime.
Izzie: That's how you stay alive. When it hurts so much you can't breathe, that's how you survive.
Derek: By remembering that one day, somehow, impossibly, you won't feel this way. It won't hurt this much.
Bailey: Grief comes in its own time for everyone, in its own way.
Owen: So the best we can do, the best anyone can do, is try for honesty.
Meredith: The really crappy thing, the very worst part of grief is that you can't control it.
Arizona: The best we can do is try to let ourselves feel it when it comes.
Callie: And let it go when we can.
Meredith: The very worst part is that the minute you think you're past it, it starts all over again.
Cristina: And always, every time, it takes your breath away.
Meredith: There are five stages of grief. They look different on all of us, but there are always five.
Alex: Denial.
Derek: Anger.
Bailey: Bargaining.
Lexie: Depression.
Richard: Acceptance.
