I loved, loved, loved this episode. And I was blindsided (in a good way) by the fact that she was Kate's sister though I saw the resemblance and think her voice was very similar to Kate's (listen to the voiceover at the end of the show as Vance reads her psych report). But I don't think this was done as a tip of the hat to fans who miss Kate. I think it was a stroke of creative genius which made for a truly powerful episode intentionally incorporating history from the team's past and the show's past. My thinking is that it was about writing a great episode, but then, wouldn't that be the goal by the writers, et al, of every episode.

Great episode. Only a good episode until the 2 scenes at the end though. Gibbs and Rachel, first in the bullpen, then in the basement made the show.

One of the best episodes of the past few years. The writing, directing and acting all played themselves out beautifully. Wendy Makkena had Caitlyn down; the walk, the gestures, eyes and dialogue. The director had the lighting, angles, and contexts of Rachel playing equally the role of Cait. The show had the feel of a series finale. Nevertheless, the ending two scenes with Gibbs were absolutely incredible. It's amazing that after so many years that Sasha Alexander's character still is so meaningful to the fans. And those associated with the show tied that sentiment in with the characters and this episode. Great job, and thanks.

I was also hesitant to the premise of the episode, but somehow it worked beautifully. Regarding the Tony/Kate rooftop scene, I don't think it was new. They had that episode the other day on reruns on TNT and I think I remember seeing that scene. I think the only new scene was the one with Kate on the phone at the end, am I right? Anyway, pretty good episode.

Don't get me wrong I love love love NCIS, but I don't know how I feel about this season. Other seasons have had bigger story lines, ones that you could invest in for longer than 1 episode but there was also a good combo of stand alone eps. Since the drug cartel battle w/ the Reynosa's is over, this whole season seems to be a bunch of stand alone eps. Since I download eps from iTunes I usually watch the eps multiple times over the course of the season. The only one that I've actually watched multiple times this season was Worst Nightmare. Overall, I'm still looking for/waiting for more. :/
Also some people have thought that the lost scene was Kate and Tony on the rooftop. I've seen that episode as a rerun on tv so I can't actually remember. I was thinking the lost scene was Kate calling her sister. I thought that would make more sense but I'm not sure.

Last night's episode was great. They are a dysfunctional family that work together well. I'm afraid that @ some point that dysfunction will brake them down in the end. I'm afraid for Gibbs, cuz he's never accepted the deaths of his family, and it's always right there in his head. He was doing better w/ that when he had his boat to work on. But last nght was a real tear-jerker, cried all the way through!

I know, again, but I thought of something I didn't mention, Abby/McGee !!!! Yeah, they talked about it! And it almost confirmed my suspicions ! Can't wait to see how they'll work on that ! Because, yes, McGee and abs have this strange relationship which might be brother/sister, sometimes twins loool, but sooo much more !! Can't wait !!!!

oh and yes, Jenny too... Gosh, I miss her sometimes... and also, the part when Gibbs sees Kate when Rachel's asleep, wow ! Also liked the riddle, who would have thought, hiccups ! lol. I laughed at her final statement about the team in her report, she was sooo damn right !

I loved this episode !!! Kate's sister !!!! I didn't have a clue ! it felt sooo good to see Kate again... but still, it was sad... Abs's loneliness was heartbreaking. Also Tony, gosh, it was hard to see him like this. I love Ziva, though Kate will always be a part of the team, and yeah, her death is still sooo horrible... If they lose Ziva, they won't get over it (fortunately for us, Cote signed for multiple years, so we won't have to worry "much").
Ducky too, made me sad... And Ziva, well, the whole team, moved me ! Tim "Probie", felt stange to hear it again lool ! (much more strange was Sean years before and after, the difference, soooo weird !!!!)
Anyway, luved it, luved it !!

What a wonderful episode - best of the season! I also deeply miss Kate, and it was heartbreaking to see her old scenes. I realize that the episode was not only to give closure to Kate's sister and the team, but to the fans as well. But it just made me miss Kate more. I hope Sasha Alexander was equally touched by the episode and by the outpouring of emotion from the fans who continue to love and miss Kate.

I liked it. It showed how Kate is missed from Tony Abby Ducky McGee Gibbs even Ziva showed how Kate`s lost still leaves a hole in the team. but each team member has there own issues to deal with but together they are on there game. it showed how Kate is still part of there team even know that she has died. and I liked how they showed Vance who never knew Kate but he has issues of his own to deal with. and like your wife my mom knew that Rachal looked like Kate had had to Know Kate personal as well. best of season 8 so far. loved how we seen old faces (Kate and Jenny) that are still missed always will. I loved Tony scanes who still has feeling for Kate I think. and Abby missing Kate. Gibbs giving Rachal Justice and trying to give her closeue. loved how we seen the sisters (Kate and Rachel) talked about Gibbs and to keep her Job. I don`t really like flashbacks but NCIS pulled it off very well. and NCIS still pulls it off after 8 years.

Wept almost from the start, although like your wife, I was sure this was a personal connection to Kate as well as a real shrink. Gotta hand it to the team and its theme of dysfunction regarding relationships. And everyone stayed true to their character and the writers did not make up stuff just for the impact. But Gibbs, Gibbs, Gibbs, revenge is not closure and you have NEVER moved on. That Gibbs denial was the truest of all the revelations. Wept all the way through.

I agree-the best episode this season and one of the top ten ever. Wendy Makkena was amazing-her mannerisms, vocal patterns and ability to relate to the rest of the cast is award winning acting. I cried. And cried. Not just for the loss of Kate, but for the realization of how much she meant to the team and even Ziva. It was hard watching her die again, but seeing how Gibbs helped "Rachel" to "see" how justice was done worked. A must see again-only I'll have kleenex handy this time!

Vance: Tom Morrow may have a solve. We pull it off this could all go away. Gibbs: For all of us? Vance: Clean slate. Gibbs: What's the catch? Vance: It might...
