American Idol Top Seven: The Best of the Best

by at . Comments

Last night's American Idol performances were geared toward "21st Century" performances and therefore gave the field a vast array of selections from which to choose.

Some of the highlights from the top seven:

  • James Durbin channeling Muse with "Uprising," stepping out of his hard rock comfort zone and proving once again why he's the man to beat this season.
  • Lauren Alaina going country with "Born to Fly."
  • Casey Abrams doing his best rendition of Maroon 5's "Harder to Breathe," then ending it with a kiss of Jennifer Lopez that actually made the judge blush.

Take a look at their performances below and tell us who you think was best - and who you think is deserves a one-way ticket home on the results show tonight ...

James Durbin was a joke last night. His performance was desperate, pitchy, and screechy. He cannot carry a tune from start to finish to save your life. Can you imagine going to see him in concert? Ouch!
