And the America's Next Top Model Winner Is...

at . Comments

Ah, yet another cycle of America's Next Top Model comes to a close.

The season finale saw Brittani and Molly competing for the top position. Molly seemed to have the edge going into the episode after a winning streak of three first call-outs. Meanwhile, Brittani was quite nervous and teary during the majority of the episode, despite nailing her CoverGirl commercial through her fears.  So, who won the title of America's Next Top Model? Read on to find out!

Finale Panel

Before their CoverGirl commercial and print ad, Brittani and Molly meet with Ivan Bart, the head of IMG. Both girls impress the boss with their looks and portfolio, but he seems to prefer Brittani's attitude to Molly's angry yet professional vibe.

The CoverGirl product du jour is "Lip Perfection Lip Color." The girls will have a teleprompter - which doesn't necessarily result in better commercials in the ANTM world - while being filmed from different angles simultaneous. Sounds fancy! They also have their print ads, of course.

Cue the tears for Brittani. For some reason, they have been paying off for Brittani during her photoshoots. Unfortunately, they won't work for commercials. Molly nails her lines during rehearsal while Brittani gets shaky and nervous.

However, art doesn't imitate life this time around as Brittani magically transforms into a gorgeous, elegant model for the commercial, while Molly looks a bit stiff, albeit professional and smooth.

Vogue Italia:

It's time for the six-page shoot in Vogue Italia that Tyra has been promising all season! Riding high from her success at the CoverGirl shoot, Brittani hopes that she has an edge over Molly, who looks worried and sulky from the day before.

But that takes a turn when Molly's mother visits the girls, giving Molly a much-needed endorphin boost. It's really sad to see Brittani without her mother, who couldn't make it due to medical reasons. Her mood changes for the worst while Molly and her very sweet mother spend some quality time together.  It's one of the most moving moments from this cycle to see Brittani promising her mother (over Skype) that she'll win so she could take care of her!

The Runway:

The girls are joined by Ann, the previous cycle's winner, Kasia, Alexandria, and Hannah, to walk in the famous Vivienne Westwood runway show. Famed for her theatrical clothing and makeup, Westwood is a fashion icon, and the girls are lucky to walk in her show. True to form, the girls have very punk-like hair and doll-like makeup. It's almost like Gothic Lolita with brighter makeup. Very cool!

The finale quickly takes a turn for the unexpected when Brittani, during one of her poses with Molly, GIGGLES during the runway! It's shocking to see someone laugh during a dramatic runway show. It's too bad because she and Molly had been nailing their walks until that point.

To make matters worse, Brittani also takes a bad tumble after slipping on an errant rose petal! It's a pretty severe fall that she can't possibly salvage and manages to limp to the finish. Remember when Chantal took a fall in Beijing? Pretty sure that cost her the win against Saleisha.

Judges' Table:

The girls have new, fierce haircuts for panel... suggested by Ivan Bart himself! Molly looks so much fresher after her weave ordeal and Brittani can really rock the short look! She looks amazing. The judges begin to compare the girls' runway walks, commercials, and print ads.

I must say that I prefer Molly's CoverGirl print ad over Brittani's; it just seems more "CoverGirl" to me. I thought Brittani would be chastised harshly for laughing during the runway but Tyra lets her off relatively easy. Both are praised for their smooth commercial.

The judges deliberate over the collective body of work and spout some random model words like "It" factor, movement, romantic, etc. At this point, you can't tell who's going to win...

...until Tyra announces that it's Brittani!! Yes!! I was rooting for her from the beginning. She always takes fierce photos and has such a winning personality. While poor Molly takes the news pretty hard, she sounds like she'll be happy to be home.

I'm pleased at Brittani's win! Do you agree with the judges' decisions or were you rooting for Brittani? Tell us in the comments!

@ Maddie - Wow, what a hater and what a shame you feel that way. For the rest of us, great finale, I would have been happy to see either girl win and am sure Molly will go on to great things too!

Both Brittani and Molly deserved being in the top two. They were really good contenders and I'm really glad they're picking top 2 finalists who deserve to be there like last cycle's Ann and Chelsey. The minute I saw Molly's fallout at the CoverGirl shoot I knew that Brittani would win. The CoverGirl shoot is a big factor. And Molly wasn't herself at all in the Italian Vogue shoot. She went down and got her hopes up when her parents came to visit her. I was sad that Brit's mom can't be there but their Skype chat was an emotional one. Both are good models but Brittani is a better winner. Molly, minus the crankiness would be a huge model, I mean her photos are the best ones I've seen in the whole ANTM history. Brittani was the whole package that's why she won. Anyway, I love both girls I hope they have good careers.

Brittanni was amazing at runway, posing, and presenting herself. Molly was great at pictures but I still liked brittani better and I thnjk she deserved it and needed it the most

Brittani sucked. I hated her, she's a fugly girl who thought she was hadcor because she knows the eff word and got a new hair cut. She's whiney and will fall into drugs and fall out quickly.

I thought Brittani and Molly were both strong contenders but I liked Brittani's attitude. Although she was emotional she didn't get grumpy or cranky when things didn't go her way unlike Molly did. I also loved both girls new hair cuts. Molly should still pursue modelling no matter what she is just as awesome as Brittani she just needs to work on her runway walk.

I think the final two were precisely the best models of the bunch. I kept going back and forth about who should/would win. I thought that Molly generally took better pictures and my head told me she was the better model. However, I kept finding myself cheering for Brittany and being amazed at her ability to pull it together under stress. I agree with the deciding factor ... personality. Although both were strong personalities and tended to complain a bit too much, Molly was generally more hard and negative and tended to turn me off at times. Although Brittany had her own meltdowns and also tended to complain, I thought she was overall nicer "inside" as Tyra often says. In the end, the client is looking for someone who can perform under pressure AND be nice to work with. Brittany just had a more endearing quality to her. Tough choice. I think both will go far in this industry. Good luck to both of them. Job well done.

You would make a more believable Tyra if you learned to spell. Surprised Brittani won but loved her new hair cut. And she does have an amazing walk.

I from the beginning liked both Molly and Brittani and to the end I still liked them both but I think that I was leaning more towards Brittani as the end got closer! Yet I am personally glad that Alexandra got kicked off.... She took great photos but I think her personality turned me off to her from the beginning!! All in all good season I think!

I read these things, all the time. And myself, and the judges, do not appretiate the bad things that people say about my girls, the models. Where they came from, and what they have done had nothing to do with the descisions that we made to make Brittani our winner. There was no clear front-runner. It was extremely close, we felt that Brittani deserved to win because she has a nice walk, takes beautiful pictures, and is a pleasure to be around. Molly lacked in the personality department, she does take FEIIRRCCE pictures, but the client has to like you. And on the go-see episode, you could tell the the clients were not very happy with the way she acted. She makes people feel down, because of her anger. She should be happy with what she has, a set of loving parents who would never leave her. And although her mother did leave her, she should feel relived that she does not have to ossosiate herself with people who do not care for her with all of their power. She is lucky to have such amazing people who care for her. There are many who don't and are stuck with people who do not love them with all that they can. If you have anymore questions, take them up with me. I believe strongly in the decisions that we made. And I am very happy to have BRITTANI representing AMNT, she will do an amazing job.

It was a close call, but I'm glad Brittani was chosen. Molly took some great shots, but she was whiny... moody and often cranky. Brittani takes amazing photos, and can be very high-fashion. I wish her well and hope her dream, of helping her mother, comes true.
