2 Broke Girls Interview: Jonathan Kite on Pride in Oleg

As Oleg on 2 Broke Girls, Jonathan Kite often delivers jokes that are considered less than politically correct. But the actor doesn't see his character as actually possessing a dirty mouth. Far from it.

"There's something very charming about him," Kite explained to me over the phone. "There's a looseness than comes with his sexuality and his Eastern European culture. There's a lost of sex in that part of the world. It's not taboo. He's just from a different place."

Jonathan Kite as Oleg

Viewers have mostly taken to Oleg - and have definitely taken to the show, which CBS has picked up for a full season - but some are still hesitant to embrace such a brash individual. That's fine with Kite.

"I like the fact that you can be on the fence about someone and then have him win you over," he says. "This is a guy who may make people feel initially uncomfortable, but through laughter and how the story is told, you'll change your mind."

Kite couldn't reveal much about what's on tap for Oleg or 2 Broke Girls, mostly because he says so much changes on the fly, but he had nothing but extraordinary things to say about stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs.

"They have an incredible work ethic. We'll sometimes get full line changes in front of a studio audience and, no problem, they'll memorize them with ease and make them incredible. It feels like we've been working together for years."
