One day after her latest guest-starring appearance on The Good Wife, Mamie Gummer has landed her first-ever lead role.
The daughter of Meryl Streep has been cast on First Cut, the upcoming CW medical pilot about a doctor who quickly discovers that her new life isn’t any less complicated and difficult than her previous life.
This will be Gummer’s second gig as a doctor. As seen above, she played a role on ABC’s short-lived Off the Map last year. She’ll be joined on First Cut by former Smallville star Justin Hartley, who will portray a popular surgeon on staff.
