Mamie Gummer Cast as Lead on First Cut
One day after her latest guest-starring appearance on The Good Wife, Mamie Gummer has landed her first-ever lead role.
The daughter of Meryl Streep has been cast on First Cut, the upcoming CW medical pilot about a doctor who quickly discovers that her new life isn't any less complicated and difficult than her previous life.
This will be Gummer's second gig as a doctor. As seen above, she played a role on ABC's short-lived Off the Map last year. She'll be joined on First Cut by former Smallville star Justin Hartley, who will portray a popular surgeon on staff.

She is an adequate actress but does not have the magic that her mother has. She mostly gets acting jobs because she is Meryl Streep's daughter (in my opinion). There are probably lots of actresses that are better than her, but they are not connected or rich!!

Too ugly? Seriously. You're just plain mean!
In Off the Map she quickly became the main reason I watched that show.
She is very talented and I am super excited to hear this news.

trust me she can act, i've seen her in off the map and the good wife, she's great, CW just gave a good reason to tune in for the the premiere, after that we'll see if it's worth watching it on a weekly basis

she played a very cocky character on Off the map! I didn't liked the character and it was written not to be liked! She looks pretty old, for a new Intern!
But we will see! Maybe she can pull it off!

Hmmm.. Interesting choice, weird name. I hope she can act as good as The Iron Lady. Never watched Off The Map so not sure about her yet. Hopefully it gets picked up and stays for more than 1 season. I really wonder what the CW intends to cancel for these new shows. It better not be HoD or TSC or Nikita!
