Sigourney Weaver has signed on for her first regular TV role.
The movie star will headline USA's Political Animals, a six-episode drama produced by Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark and slated for this summer.
The series will focus on a former First Lady and her scandal-filled family, centering on Weaver's Secretary of State Elaine Barish, who is recently divorced from an ex, philandering President. James Wolk will also star as Barrish's son/chief of staff, Doug, with Brittany Ishibashi on board as Doug’s fiancée.
Political Animals will air just six episodes during its initial run, but USA hopes it sticks around for the long term.
