Heading into the final four episodes, give season three a grade so far.

In comparison to other supernatural shows on TV, A-.....by season?
    Season 1: A+
    Season 2: B+
    Season 3: C

Let's hope the writer's can "pull their grades up" for (hopefully) Season 4..

What would you title Elena Gilbert's handbook?

"The Doomed Girl's Guide: How to survive when all your parental figures die or become homicidal, the oldest vampire in the world makes you his human blood bag, and you love two undead-yet-smoldery brothers."

Who will you miss more: Sage, Finn or Troy?

Did we meet Troy before..like, ever? And Finn the Martyr...so one dimensional. Sage by default, I guess. Though, I wouldn't have minded knowing a TAD more about their love story or Sage's history...

I don't get it...I LOVED this episode! I agree the second half of the season has been pretty shaky and uneven, but this was a GREAT one in my TVD book.

What was your favorite scene from the episode?
CLEARLY the moment with Stefan and Elena!! Are we not watching the same show?! Stefan is "well-adjusted" (ish) again, he realizes the error of his ways! Paul and Nina played it so well... AND, best of all, I remembered why I loved Stefan and Elena together way back in Season 1..you know, before they got boring in Season 2 and Stefan got "Rippery" in Season 3.

  5. Invested In Your Future

    8) Contrived deus ex machinae involving "MAGIC" - Bonnie was(and remains) the go-to gal for when writers write themselves into a corner. She pulled all the believability-breaking things out of nowhere - "unvamp spell"? HERE YA GO. Original-killing? HERE YA GO. Revive-Jeremy-spell? HERE YA GO.
    9. Very predictable, drawn out and ultimately pointless death of Jenna. Horribly pointless deaths of Jules, Isobel and John that serve no purpose and in no way affect the show direction....nor develop the supposed lead heroine.

  6. Invested In Your Future

    4) Elena. The un-changing, immovable cardboard prop that is Elena.
    5) The disjointed and pointless finale that, yet again, hyped UP EVERYTHING as omg-gamechanger, for us only to return in premiere as if nothing has happened.
    6) Complete and utter disregard for character development.
    7) Death being cheapened so much that it stopped emotionally affecting people. Everyone revived dozens of times during the last few epand and mos tof them through....

  7. Invested In Your Future

    2) Lots of build up....VEEERY little pay-off- stuff was hyped. Every episode was hyped as "OMG GAMECHANGER", while in reality it was full of VERY predictable events that had no effect on the show nor characters. Speaking of which...
    3) no consequences - nothing that happened in s2 had any real consequences. Elena's death was never really explored and she just shrugged it and its psychological consequences off in urnealistic fashion. Jenna's death was forgotten right in the next episode and changed nothing. After horrible events happened, Elena remained undeveloped and not-reacting to anything.

im curious as to which parts of the last few episodes of S2 didnt you enjoy?
I think this was echoed by regulars of this website a lot, but:

    1) Inconsistent plot convenient plotholes - namely how inconsistent the portayal of bonnie's original-kill spell was, how stupid the "soap dish" plot was, how a lot of contrived plot developments(getting jenna out of the house, etc) were pulled off offscreen, how EVERY character in the show was made to disregard the very basic logic and common sense and had to act completely out of character for plot to work.

  9. Sydnee

I LOVE this season! Stop judging it so harshly or I'm not coming here anymore. RELAX! I like to see you guys write the show....

@Bored Now: I did find the S2 finale episode pointless although Plec said something like it was Damon's emotional journey coming to an end i felt taht it just happened so we would get the Delena kiss, it was all for the shippers.but i did enjoy the set-up of Ripper Stefan I thought that was an interesting turn of events and S3 would start with a new direction.
I actually thought the last few episodes of S2 were well executed even though we knew Klaus wouldnt die i still watched S2EP21 many times (although Aunt Jenna shouldnt have been killed so quickly) im curious as to which parts of the last few episodes of S2 didnt you enjoy?

    1. The bloodline reveal although I knew it was a possibility for months.
    2. We need better questions next time.
    4. bloodline

    1. The Caroline-Damon exchange.

    2. Sage, Cassidy Freeman is amazing, sage was starting to get interesting so its ridiculous that they killed her so quickly.

    3. Diary of a scared and selfish teenager.

    4. Definately the blood lines, I love these twists that happen... amazing.

    5. B-. This season has been ok, it had some intriguing stories and we got to meet the originals and have them ingrained into out mythology.

The whole "Who Turned Rose?" thing is probably going to be pretty disappointing. I mean, what if it was a vampire we don't know and then it went back another 50 vampires till we reached an original. Being TVD they won't do that and just make it direct or only put a couple vampires in-between, but it could logically be impossible to find out.

  14. San

Come on, who totally remembers when Klaus killed Jenna? Not Elena. That's for sure.

LMAO :-D So true (which is kinda sad, actually).

My favourite quote was Caroline calling Rebekah "Buffy the Vampire", it was so Damon-ish ;-)

  15. Invested In Your Future

@Bored Now: so you didnt enjoy the Season 2 storylines on TVD either?? personally i thought Season 2 was the best season!
The show was at its best during its run till Masquerade. After Katherine got tombed, the show sort of started to completely loose both its pacing and writing quality. We started to get rushed with pointless characters who then get dead and Elena got awfully lot more irritating.

Overall while those episodes till, what, the ep where its revealed that Elijah does not want Elena to die, Those episodes were still decent, even if irritating. Then the show suddenly too a level in Dumb Writing over the course of last four episodes of S2 and never recovered, instead going more and more downhill.

    1. The whittle work comment.
    2. Sage
    3. Loving My Mother's Lover
    4. Dog
    5. D-

  17. Ariadne

    1.WEhatever had Klaus and Damon
2.I think Sage.I felt really bad when she was watching Finn dies.I actually was more sad about her than i was for Finn!
3."I have potentials i just don't want to develope them"
    4.The bloodline thing for sure!
5.A+ ...i actually loved this season more than the previous 2.For some reason only here there are people who don't like this season!...sorry tv fanatic but it's weird and i agree with the rest of the internet users!

  18. Rist

    1. Sage dropping dead and the big reveal that came from it.
    2. Finn by default mostly.
    3. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff (ie Murder)
    4. Jeremy's dog! But really the bloodline.
    5. B+. Would have been a B but this episode raised the grade. To this point in the season, it's the best season of the show yet. It's had some low points, but the high points more then make up for them.

  19. Rose

@Bored Now: so you didnt enjoy the Season 2 storylines on TVD either?? personally i thought Season 2 was the best season!

  20. Invested In Your Future

    1. Caroline's scenes. Even those were mediocre, but still by miles better than the rest of episode.
    2. None of them. I will howeverLOATHE the lost epic potential sage had before she was turned into generic throwaway character written by misogynists.
    3. Elena's handbook - Cardboard Personalities and Bella Swan - how to become a crazy cat lady in three days. ELENA EDITION.
    4. Obviously a dog. Elena's stuff...ugh. Bloodline....UGHHHH retcons.
    5. E- and that's being generous. I think I might even like the HUGE trainwreck that was sacrifice storyline more than the mess of this season...as impossible as it sounds.

  21. Spindae
    Rank: Regular Character

    1.Scene!
Bonnie crying! That was just a natural reaction, which we should see a lot more! The Cruelty shown by Klaus, gave some really good scenes as well! Loved him tossing Fin around!
    2Missing?
Sage! She had something, she enjoyed her living as a Vamp in a way that Katarina does it! So she was nice!
    3. MEAN! ! !
3 season of stupidity on how to save Ur loved ones!
    4.Interesting!
I predicted the Bloodline thing earlier in a spoiler post! so nope! But lets say the Elena thing! But that was obvious a long time ago, let's say when they KISSED!
    5.Grade?
The first half was an action packed A! Without any bad remark!
But since Esther appeared they've got slappy! They are pushing things so they just can wait till the season final! After "Bringing out the dead" none of the episodes deserve a :D:! SO overall a C+, because of the first half! Maybe they make it right in these last 4 eps!

  22. Amie
    Rank: Regular Character

    1. I am torn between "Why am I always Klaus bait" ans "She slept with you". The first showed that Caroline is perhaps THE ONLY one giving a voice to those people thrown under the bus in the name of Miss "I don't know what I am feeling"; the second one was just for pure bitch pleasure.

    2. There was only one actress in the world who managed to play furniture brilliantly, so I won't be missing these 3 pieces.

    3. Title for Elena's book: "How To Loose Friends And Alienate People: Special Edition for Brainless Girls".

    4. Jeremy hands down, because I also have a golden retriever! Because the bloodline was a logical conclusion and Elena's feelings have sucked as being the lead characters on this show.

    5. C minus, like I said before I don't like not knowing where I am going and why.

  23. kyra

1.) Damon dreaming about Elena. It showed again how talented Ian is. I totally forgot that he can switch from bad guy, snarky guy, totally concerned brother to a man who loves as deep and reckless as nobody else. Standing ovations from me and my husband
    2.) None of them
3.) How to behave stupid and deny as long as possoble till the audience forget that i exist.
4.) We all know she feels for Damon, remember this is a triangle. So i choose the bloodline stuff. Otherwise the dog was also cute..lol
    5.) B- , episode 1+2+3+4+5+6+8+9+10+13 are A the rest C

  24. Hookified(dande)
    Rank: Regular Character

    1. Caroline commenting being Klaus bait scene.
    2. None
