Gossip Girl Producers Preview "Salon of the Dead"

by at . Comments

We've already posted one promo and sneak peek. Now the producers of Gossip Girl, led by show-runner Josh Safran, are revealing more about next Monday's episode in their weekly video preview.

According to the snippets below ...

  • Dan and Blair struggle to maintain their own identities within the confines of a blossoming romance, and try to come into their own when an exclusive club event emerges as an ideal public debut.
  • Lola thinks she has a theory about who Gossip Girl really is - not too surprising considering the timing with which Serena sabotaged her - and sets out to expose her, with Nate helping her out.
  • Rufus and Lily are in real trouble.

Producers were wrong for not show love relationship between Blair and Dan in season 4. At the beginning of season 5 would appear Louis and Blair would leave Dan. I think they were merged late, and that their relationship is maintained by force, without the romance. And we know that Blair and Dan know how to be romantic.

I agree with you. I have already argued that can not change the characters in the series so that they become unrecognizable. Serena is not more Serena, Blair is not more Blair, Chuck is no longer Chuck. Dan has become worse than Chuck, if Chuck is generally bad. The characters have to be developed but if Chuck is now becoming a good, his character has to keep one part of the dark side which audience liked. Without this, it is not the same Chuck, but another character played by same actor and has the same name. I have emphasized here at Chuck, but it can refer to any other character. To me Dan and Blair look like the two who went astray, and do not know to get back on track. As they are angry at their ex-lovers - Serena and Chuck. And in fact seem to be angry with themselves. I agree with you, Dan and Blair have no chemistry. Although I found their friendship very boring and I didn't like it. It felt very forced and shoved down our throats. I didn't find their 'banter' funny and I just found it very unbelievable that they would become friends to begin with.
Yes, characters can 'grow' but not until a point where you can't recognise them anymore. You have to keep the fundamental aspects of the characters. In this case, Blair's main characteristics were that she was bitchy, snobby and fashion forward. All of these aspects to her character have changed this season, hence I, and I'm sure a lot of other people, find it hard to take the 'dair relationship' seriously when I can't even recognise one of the characters. She seems like a guest star or something instead of the girl we have watched the past 5 seasons. This is just my opinion and I would gladly discuss this with anyone.

Absolutely right, there is nothing romantic about the Dair relationship as there is 0 chemistry between the actors. I find the sexual scenes between them very awkward to watch and they don't seem comfortable with each other. It is sad that the writers are unable to right a male and female relationship without it leading to sex. Why couldn't they have just stayed friends?

Oh god. Norman Buckley is directing this episode. That guy is a dickhead.
It's interesting how Josh Safran doesn't seem as excited for Dair as he usually is.
Watching the start of this preview, I think that the argument Dan and Blair are having is the reason they will part ways in the end. There is no getting around it.
You guys are right, Dan and Blair are boring, and there isn't much more they can do with the storyline because of the fact everyone is a little clueless as to how they got together, and why it happened so fast, so it would be difficult to write a storyline which made sense. Here's hoping the breakup that has been announced will be happening soon. The show is boring.

It seems that it is true that Chuck's mother was Diane. Unfortunately. I say unfortunately because this discovery may lead to break of friendship between Chuck and Nate. Diana had sex with Nate in one room while Chuck was in the second. A now little funny - whether Nate to become a stepfather to Chuck?

Let us be clear. Dan and Blair are not lovers. They are friends with benefits. Sex for them is additional action that is not important. At least for the Dan.

Well you are remembered. At the beginning of season 3 when they went to a party organized by Georgina. Writers seem to have fallen from Mars!

As for the hair of Dan, you're right that the film is over. I think this Dan hairstyle is for this season. In past seasons, Dan has always had a different hairstyle. I agree with you that needs drama in the series.
