Gossip Girl Producers: Return to "Core Dynamics and Characters" Ahead

by at . Comments

Gossip Girl's core characters and dynamics will be on display in the CW drama's sixth and final season this fall, according to executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

With show-runner Josh Safran departing to helm Smash Season 2, and producer Sara Goodman elevated to his former role, one can at least hope (if not expect) this will actually be the case.

Schwartz confirms that the 11-episode Gossip Girl Season 6 will focus on a return to the “core dynamics and the core characters” that drew fans to the show in droves at the outset.

Blair and Chuck

Adds Savage of the coming conclusion to the show:

“There are definitely some things we want to see in the Gossip Girl series finale, and we think we have a great opportunity to tell those final stories and honor our characters and honor our fans."

"We’re all really excited for this final run.”

What about you? Are you excited or apathetic? Do you think the show will redeem itself in its final chapter? What kind of stories are you hoping to see in the sixth season swan song come October?

Blair Waldorf is in the Philippines right now. Check out her interview on a local TV show. She revealed they're only doing 10 eps for season 6. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

dair was the only thing that made sense? lol this relationship was the most ooc thing i have ever seen and blair grew up? lol again this season blair was a pathetic parody of serena

Avatar

@Amanda actually all they have done during the last seasons was about Chair, just putting obstacles in their relationship and that's when the show started to fail...The dair storyline was the only one that made sense in a long time and made Blair grow up (only to go back to chuck like a lost puppy and lose what was left of her dignity)They ruined Chair and that's why the show and the characters don't make any sense anymore

I have been wacthing gossip girl since the first season.Although there are times I really question why I watch this show, at the end of the day I am a devoted fan. I have been in love with Chair since season 1 and I truly hope they get some sort of happy and well deserved ending.

With the show's producer leaving it just shows that they are just back tracking and pretending the last couple seasons will white wash. Blair is my favorite character and the dynamics between Humphrey and her were fabulous but now I feel I've been robbed. To me personally GG ended when Humphrey kissed Princess Blair on the steps of The Met in a beautiful pink dress. I will probably watch the Series Finale and skip the new episodes.
