I forgot to say Meredith could have taken Lexie's hand and give her encouragement to live. Told her she love her and to hang on. She is going to get Derek to help get her out.

Derek will deal with Lexie death like losing a little sister. Because he was more of a big brother to Lexie than Meredith was s big sister

Meredith going to deal with Lexie death the same way she dealt with her mother death her dog and losing her baby. she gets over them really quick. So Lexie death isn't going to faze her a bit. why? Because she walked away from her dying sister under a plane to look for her husband. And she was suppose to LOVE HER. She would have looked for Lexie if Christina or Derek were under the plane. My opinion.

It could be any of them on the gurney, as they are all hurt, but it's most likely Mark or Arizona.
As for Meredith, either she denies Lexie's death or maybe she loses it completely (after all, isn't she usually strong ?)

About Derek, I'm quite sure he won't operate for quite a while, which is indeed a completely new situation for that character (so that might be interesting) and I'm quite sure that if she survives, Arizona won't be up and running before a while either.
