@keith Sweets go check around fan sites, tumblr, twitter. You will see how much Sweets polarizes the Bones fandom. It goes from tolerating him, to hating him: I wish Booth would shoot him.

Too political, Brennan running for prez, give me a break, not even funny. Cold, detached, unlikeable, yep, that's what we need unless, of course, it has to do with one of ED's numerous causes. HH needs to take back control of his show and not let the lead actress dictate her storylines. Get us back to crime solving, if the actors want to do charity work, let them do it on their own time, not mine. BTW, is Booth ever going to get a storyline?

Sweets is one of my favorite characters and I've enjoyed his growth, especially early on (like that scene where he stands on the float and picks out the killer). I don't think "most" viewers hate Sweets, but 2 episodes of 4 around Sweets, and this where he comes off as such a panicked jerk, isn't a treat. And then Angela "feeling" inadequate, Hodgens gleeful over bugs and dung to the mad scientist level, Cam as ineffective summer camp counselor, and Bones, who's character flaws all stem from how quickly and brain-first she runs through life's options and dismisses what doesn't fit, no matter anyone else's feelings, is supposed to be seriously deluded about running for President? Are they writing by formula: a) here's the mystery of the week, b) give each character a conflict?

Exactly. Let Booth and Brennan have the first run of new eps to re-establish them as a couple from Brennan being on the lam and leave the supporting cast ep to mid season. I swear if you were just watching as a new viewer you would think you were watching a spinoff called 'Sweets' and not BONES. What is wrong with Hart Hanson?

I almost wrote in my review that I want to get back to the point where everyone pools their collective strengths to help solve the case and realized that would be confusing. We got that in this episode but with our cast serving as caricatures of themselves instead of actual fleshed-out, well-written characters like in seasons past.
Like Iain, I dislike that so far two of the four episodes have focused on a supporting character. And I actually LIKE Sweets. But this is a show about Booth and Bones and needs to get back to that.

No, I'm not talking season 1-4 standard. That for me, is like another show altogether.
Season 6 is still the worst and season 7 was unusual, but season 8 got better, for a huge chunk of the fanbase, not only my opinion. Off course, it pales in comparison to the brilliant writing of the earlier seasons, but it's not that bad.
And on Sweets and Daisy, I'm grateful that's over. Now shrinky-boy can grow up and get over his man-crush on Booth.

I thought Booth and Brennan as a cute couple at home and work were the best thing about this ep. Booth was awesome and charming. And well, I could of done without President Brennan, cos annoying, but Booth and Brennan were cute, which was nice to see after their fight ep 2.

@katie Ha. Ikr. There are so many things I could list to point out how AWFUL SWEETS is. But with regards to Daisy, remember him making out with that girl in the line for Avatar Season 5? Then he was flirting with Agent Tween Starling, and he liked she kissed him? Oh yeah the dude is a cheater. Daisy didn't deserve that. Or Sweets being a jerk to her.

@tony not only that, Sweets let Daisy get the apartment, they decorated it, then he dumped her, dumped her after letting her go that far, then left her standing in the street, alone. What a JERK. Sweets is the King of Jerks. I felt sorry for Daisy. Never had before but she is better of without that weak excuse for a man.

What an absolute douchebag Sweets is. He is a shrink who didn't get the importance of moving in with Daisy, or for her? Who writes this crap? Sweets is the brain fart who asked Daisy to marry him and he didn't think that was going to lead to getting an apartment? Again who wrote this crap?

Emily needs to reign in her personal animal rights agenda and beliefs and make Brennan more believable. Brennan can shed a tear over a dead animal but a dead human being? and she doesn't bat an eyelid. Over reacted by Emily. Over acted by Emily.

My main problem with S8 is that out of 4 eps we have had 2 centred around Sweets, who fans either hate, dislike or a bit like....Now give the supporting cast stories, yes, but not in the first 4 eps of the season and at the expense of Booth and Brennan who set the momentum for the season. Fail Hart Hanson. Fail

I still enjoy watching Bones; but it has changed from a show I used to change my schedule for to make sure I watched it on TV, to a show I usually catch on the DVR. They have made Bones more clueless when it comes to the world then she was at the start of the series. She was quirky sure, but wouldn't go on an episode long tangent about running for president. Also, while I like Booth and Brennan together I hate how the show now seems to have this booth/brennan problem of the week. Then they write the case so that it has meaning to fix that problem.

As a matter of fact, I, as a fan of Bones, have been extremely disappointed with Bones over Season 6, 7, and 8. Each getting progressively worse. While I actually didn't mind this episode as much as Miranda, I am thanking all that is good in this world for the break-up of Sweets and Daisy. Sweets is my favorite Bones character and Daisy is my least. It was downright painful to watch the two them together for 3 or 4 years. I am begging Hart Hanson or anyone else in the loop with Bones to look at Seasons 1-5 again. That is the show I am showing up for every week and each season I see less and less of it. Please make this stop....
