The rumor has now become a reality: Jessica Sanchez is headed to the halls of William McKinley High School.

The American Idol runner-up has signed on for her first television role, coming on board Glee in an unknown role later this season.

Ryan Murphy has not revealed when Sanchez will stop by his Fox hit, nor has he announced any character details.

Sanchez finished second to Philip Phillips on Season 11 of Idol, but many believe she was responsible for the show's most memorable performances last year, highlighted by her take on "I Will Always Love You."
