@mahta7a and @leigh raines i agree with both your comments. mahta7a, it was rushed and the editions didn't make sense. it was very rushed and the grams aspect, i wish the writers explored that more and explain why she never appeared in the previous seasons as a spirit if the option was always available. leigh, i miss alaric too :( he made the show bearable and now he isn't present at all i'm being forced to care for the other characters.

BORED BORED BORED!!!!! I am so disappointed with the writers, this was their chance to finally restore TVD and let us all forget that mishap to the story from the previous season. they brought us right back to the beginning with this on-going excuse of a love triangle. i felt it was wasted the memoirs between delana, we know she'll remain like bella and stay with the comfortable choice...
i mostly agree with your review.my only problem with the premiere was that it felt too rushed.and there were so many plot holes!but i still thought it was interesting and well acted.

Very disappointed. I'd been looking forward to this episode for months.
Elena turning into a vampire was very anti-climatic.
Bonnie and Damon were shocking in this episode. Damon was being completely irrational and he's gradually becoming the most unlikeable character on the show and Bonnie was just used as a plot device AGAIN. Rebekah was definitely the highlight of the episode and Michael Trevino did a good job as Klaus but I'm happy Joseph Morgan is back.
The love triangle is the most boring, over-used aspect of the show. It takes up far too much screen time and every time Damon or Stefan says something really cheesy to Elena, I can't help but cringe. I'm becoming very frustrated with this show. Will the writers PLEASE fix Bonnie's character already?!

the rest was awesome, and even that i will always be a big Damon&Elena fan, i go with Matt. First they teally need to put down this triangle for a while. They made the fanbases push against each other in the last season and lost a lot of straight storytelling by a lot of lost threads in Season 3. Elena made her descision. It`s Stefan, but we all know it`s not the end. Endgame means the end of a tv-show. And i really hope the will mess up with Damon and Elena like with Chuck and Blair just because they are fan-favorite. We all can see what this make with a tv-show..Gossip Girls ratings are now under 0,8 million..
So please, strong storytelling and logical consequences..

Team Stelena!! I think everybody's crush Ian Somerhalder, that's why they want Delena. Damon almost killed Jeremy by snapping his neck and has tried to kill Bonnie. In real life would anyone ever forgive somebody that killed your brother?! I think not! Yeah Heremy had that ring in but Damon didn't know that and even if he did, killing my brother makes me want to kill you and hate you forever! Lol! Glad Klaus is back in his body. He is the hottest guy on the show and his dimples and accent, oh my! Tyler is also super freaking hot. Now, TVD, please stop with the Elena, Stefan, and Damon love triangle please!!!!

I really loved the first ep except of the witchy crap. I dont know what it is with that but i think it goes hand in hand with the stupid language (spells). .It sounds so stupif and far away from magig. It sounds like a baby would start speakin without knowing what to speak. And the more screentime this spells get the more the people are bothered by this, and the way they try to fix everything with Bonnies magic. I really like her but i think they should have made the spells more handmade and less with words..Like with blood or dead animals..or i don`t know. I personally think every magic is kind of dark..so why not sending Bonnie kind on a dark path from the beginning..That would gave her also a better storyline from the beginning of this tv-show..

love love love the Stelena scene in the barn. It was soooo touching and pure that u can see even Rebekah was touched and helped when she wanted Elena dead earlier.
But i'm sad cos i know down the road, Elena will prob break up with Stefan and goes with Damon. That means Stefan must have done something...so r they gonna villainized Stefan again? Hope not. Let Elena live with the guilt.
Btw, Stefan looks absolutely HOT, dare i say, even HOTTER than Damon this season. Love his close up scenes with Damon at the beginning. Damon is so over rated with his brow arching.

I felt that the beginning was the best. I really hope the rest of the ep was blegh. But I'm sure the rest of the season will be better!!

Disappointed. So tired of the love triangle that is obviously so incredibly biased towards Stefan. Tired of Bonnie's same old story line. Tired of everyone worshipping Elena. I'm done watching honestly!!

Basic thoughts- I miss Alaric, I feel like he balanced out Damon and made him more fun and less pissy. Tyler's body. That's all.
I was disappointed. Severly disappointed. Only good stuff was klaus\bek. Man clair holt is great. Matt also has potential as an actor, but they won't let him shine. Caro should b the lead female cause I DESPISE elena

It was'nt the white hot return I had hoped for,And I to didnt like this episode.
I guess its ok to use dark magic as a plot device now that the Secret Circle is gone,but everything involving Bonnie and Jeremy in that dark abandoned candle-lit house reminded me within 2 minutes of how much I hated these characters last season....Bonnie does spell,Jeremy doesn't agree,Bonnie passes out,Jeremy panics.Its rinse and repeat with these to.
•Damon is a NEAR DARK wannabe.
•Klaus is back, so prepare your ears everybody it's time for Late night with Klaus michaelson.
•Caroline gets hotter every season.
•Claire Holt has nice lips (Insert adult joke here)

i found it predictable... then again my local CW plays high school football on thurdays, annoyingly so. I can't avoid the spoilers. a show that is supposed to start at 8 starts at 10... i look. Therefor i am not stunned when i watch. Although i did not see the explosion at the end. and i am not a fan of elana and stefan never really have been, not even in season one. This episode set up the possibility for a strong season.

I think over all it was a great start and opened alot of doors in diffrent directions that they can take it this season! I for one hope they bring in a love intrest for Damon and keep her around! Maybe kathrin...

And yes the Grams being tortured thingy I hated! they should have learned by now not to get into the same "Other Side" mess they made last season! Enough with the Spirits/Dead Witches/Ghosts please!
I didn't get the Council thingy at the end???! Will someone explain what that was all about (assuming they are not as clueless as I am)

I think this show will get significantly better once Damon and Elena get together, they need to stop dragging out the love triangle r else it's going to back fire. Stefan should start dating Meredith, I think we would really see some explosive chemistry between those two if the show gave them a chance ;). Please don't fail TVD, we love you too much...
As for Forwood...Hawtt!
I wouldn't mind all the (male)cast taking a beach trip at some point in the show, if they want ratings take advantage of the hot bods, and do it all in one episode!

I thought this episode was good-ish!
My problem was, like you mentioned, the fact that we all knew Elena would transition made some of the scenes less dramatic, but they had to obviously atleast attempt some sort of suspense. Nina did a good job though!
What I absolutely loved the most was Rebekah! Amazing acting by Claire Holt, especially in the last scene with Klaus! Looking forward to seeing a new kind of Becks, on her own and not under the sway of her rage-a-holic bro!
I also liked Trevino's portrayal of Klaus. Plus although I liked the fact Klaus is his evil self again (cuz Jomo is just *swoons*) only semi-glad he is back cuz his character has been along for a while and Im sure many people are tired of seeing him!
Bonnie scenes are making this show so repetitive! Always some spell/ Witchy Workaround, give the girl a story, less witchy and more human! plus Jeremy being with her just brought back all the season 2 stuff and we don't need to see that all over again!

And for Bonnie to risk her life, yet again, to save Elena from being a vampire was ridiculous. At this point they should be grateful that Elena's even alive considering everything that she's been through as the doppelganger. Instead they're trying to go to hell and back to keep her (Cont'd) human. At least she wasn't outright dead, as Matt would have been had he been left in the car. I wanted to slap Stefan when he told Matt that he needs to earn the fact that he's still alive. Um no, he doesn't. It's not his fault that you chose to listen to Elena and save him. Honestly, #teamdamon all the way. He was the only one being practical about anything and if she had listened to him and decided to feed in the morning she could have had a long, rejuvenating drink instead of having to struggle to get that dirty, dusty smear of blood from that ignorant vampire killer.

I have faith in Vampire Diaries, so I know this was probably just a slow episode to set up what will probably be a great season, but it also didn't meet my expectations. I expected there to be some backlash at the idea of Elena turning into a vampire, but this idea that the whole world has to bend and break so that Elena can be happy is so tired! You're in love with and surrounded by supernatural beings. Nearly every single person you love is supernatural. Did you really think you were just going to grow up, have 2.5 kids, a white picket fence and the whole shebang? And Aunty Caroline who never ages was just going to come and visit and your husband was going to look 17 forever? Think again, girl. And for Bonnie to risk her life, yet again, to save Elena from being a vampire was ridiculous. I thought this episode was good-ish!
