The Good Wife introduced viewers to Alicia's mother on "A Defense of Marriage."

Next week, meanwhile, on "Battle of the Proxies," it will take fans through an especially intriguing murder case, as Will defends a client accused of homicide and Alicia is asked to toe the line between legality and morality, influencing the outcome of the trial by assisting a nearby county prosecutor.

Elsewhere: Eli will feel pressure from the Justice Department, while Cary turns to Andrew Wiley for help.
