Hart of Dixie Review: Ship-naped

at . Comments

During "Islands in the Stream" we saw that Lemon - having grown throughout Hart of Dixie Season 2 - still has a little bit of old Lemon left in her.

Elsewhere, George and Zoe attempted to justify why they are not together in the present, while Lavon tried to figure out why a familiar British man was in Bluebell.

I have to admit that I didn't really enjoy this episode. The two thing that kept me happy? Annabeth playing a huge role and that "Quidditch" reference.

George's Family

My biggest issue with the episode was the fact that the writers were trying to put an edge in the current dynamics. While I respect that they are trying to keep it fresh and try new things, I didn't like it. Not because of any shipping. I just don't like how it played out.

First, we had George's overbearing and highly annoying mother butting into his affairs like it was actually her business. Yes, I understand that she has a motherly instinct and that she wants her son to have a strong future. It's still not her place and she needed to get the picture. Here's the big problem: George is happy but she isn't because it's not what SHE wants. I felt like pausing my DVR so that I could fast-forward this part of the episode.

Secondly, George and Zoe have no need to revisit old feelings or try to justify why they are not together. They are both finally content. My favorite part about George/Tansy and Wade/Zoe is the fact that they are opposites and keep each other on their toes. Zoe went with Wade to a monster truck rally and Wade went to a foreign film with Zoe and this is what makes their relationship so great. Same goes with George/Tansy.

Lastly, I cannot stand George's mother. It is normally his father I despise, but tonight I wanted to reach in and give him a high five. So please, let's not bring back his mother for awhile. I am not sure I can handle her again so soon.

While all of this unnecessary drama was going on, we saw Lemon back in her former ways, trying to sleuth her way into figuring out who Brick was sleeping with. Granted, this was funny and comedic to watch as Shelby squirmed - but I didn't like how it ended up. We have all gotten used to mature and adult Lemon and to see her backtrack seems so out of character now. It was unenjoyable because Lemon is my favorite on the show; she's come too far to act like a brat.

Also, I am fairly confident this will end badly for Lemon. She will try to butt in on something that isn't her business (i.e. Ruby and Lavon) and end up weakening her relationship with someone she cares about and unfortunately this time it'll be Brick. Shelby makes him happy, can't that be enough?

I like the dramatic twists but they shouldn't be put in if it will cause someone to go out of character.

My favorite part was Annabeth. Finally the writers gave her a storyline! I am so happy that she received screen time without Lemon or Lemon's agenda. Annabeth is a great character and needs to be given more time to shine. I adored the British man and I, too, became less attracted to him when his southern accent came back. Don't worry, Annabeth, you're not the only shallow person.

Now, if they are hinting at more Lavon and Annabeth, we all know that won't end with for Annabeth, knowing that Lemon still has strong feelings for Lavon. That'll be one intense love-triangle.

I am glad this episode is done and over with now because I'm excited for next week! Why? Rose is back! According to my chat with Hart of Dixie creator Leila Gerstein, she will be making a cameo with her daughter and Tonya, Rose's best friend (played by McKayla Maroney), will be returning as well.

All I really wanna say about the show I used 2 love, is the fact that *"Tanzy", Is a "BIG f*ck*ng PIG",.I watched the movie, "Magic Mike", and the actor who plays *'TANZY'*, on "Hart of Dixie", Is in it, Showing Off Her F*ck*ng Tits, for the world to see, Its "DISCUSTING", I cant even watch the show anymore, she makes me wanna 'Puke', + I really used to like her, untill I seen her acting like a "PIG", in that movie..However, I still love all the other actors on that show)..She NEEDS to GOOOO.....

Drea xoxo

i'm glad the writers finally made zoe, george and their shippers realsie that if they wanted to be together they would have been by now. i prefer her with wade and nout you can do to convince me otherwise. on paper yes they should suit but in reality they have nothing to make a long term relationship. glad shelby and brick out in the open they are cute and the character decline of lemon is getting tedious now keep her mature or don't bother make us grow to like her at all!!! want AB and Lavon they will be equal and mature, lemon and Lavon remain friends and bring back that guy for lemon....keep george and tansey and i'll be fine

I loved the episode. Finally some Geoge and Zoe dynamic. I love these two share scenes. I never liked the wade and Zoe pairing and I still don't. I think their constant quarelling is getting tiresome but I love the show as a whole enough to keep watching.

George and Zoey are adults...don't understand why they felt the needs to explain their actions to MUMMY. George needs to man up and stand up to his mom.

I just wish the writers would realize that just because they set out with the intention of G and Z, does NOT mean that's how it has to end. Zoe and Wade clearly have something special and magnetic, which needs to be taken into account before the writers continue with their G and Z endgame.

This episode was such a waste!! It's perfectly clear the writers are trying to hint that Zoe and George will end up together, which is boring and predictable and not at all what a large, large portion of the fanbase wants. Why won't the writers give Zoe and Wade a fighting chance?! Yeah, they're together for now, but it seems like the writers are consistently trying to destroy them with little hints about George and Zoe. Like, this episode felt exactly like the Halloween episode where we had to sit through an entire hour of nonsense just to find out Z and G still had feelings for each other. The outcome was slightly different this time (i.e. they claim they don't still have feelings), but it still felt the same. I'm a Zade fan, and honestly I won't be happy if Z and W don't end up together, but as long as they're given a fair chance as a couple, I could live with it. I just wish the writers would realize that just because they set out with the intention of G and Z, doesn't mean that's how it has to end up.

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you. Just because Mom is a jerk, it doesn't mean she's totally wrong. All these characters are growing, and they need to continue to do so to be deserving of a great relationship, and dare I say marriage. They're learning stuff from their "opposites," but once they've learned, who is to say that Zoe and George couldn't be a great married couple. What's boring to Tanzy isn't to many many people, and certainly not to Zoe. Wade has some ambitions like owning a bar, and he might turn into a fine business owner and community asset, but he needs to find a way to overcome his self doubt and get on with it. He's got a great shot, but he's got to continue to grow and take risks. He seems willing, and he's certainly got "inspiration." May the best man (and actors!) continue to grow, and win Zoe!

I agree with your comments. I a fan of this show(it isnt finished the season 1 in Spain), I watching season 2 via streaming. I dont like thos episode. George is boring, anodine and he is nos able to say his mummy, to go out the bout. Come on is an adult, and he seems like a baby. The writters cant lost the chemical exits beetween Zoe and Wade. Sorry for my english :-)

I agree with most of the comments here, the episode felt unnecessary. Although I was thrilled to see more Annabeth, I didn't like the storyline with Oliver and Lavon, it just didn't fit. However, I wouldn't mind seeing AB and Lavon together, we already know how she feels about him so it could make for some interesting episodes. I just want to enjoy Wade and Zoe without all the George business, I love them together and it's just fun to watch the chemistry between Wilson Bethel and Rachel Bilson. They should keep that separate for now..

I wonder if Lavon starts liking AB and when he admits it to her, she panics and blurts out Lemon still being in the picture for Lavon. Of course, this sounds all too easy so I'll throw in a hands down denial on Lemon's part and a blessing for them to go forth whilst she watches AB and Lavon get cosier... slowly killing Lemon each episode. Lol, regardless it will interesting to see how these three go about all this.
