Oh, I really worried about this episode. I thought maybe there was too much going on in it with the return of Sang Min, the introduction of Danny's nephew, AND the "vote for the villain" scheme! I'm very happy to have been proved wrong! I think all the different aspects of the episode were entertaining in their own right and melded together very well. The procedural was fun, well, as much fun as gobbledy-gooked bodies can be! Nephew Eric was a very pleasant surprise! Andrew Lawrence was funny and believable as well as a chip off the old uncle block. I thought the vote for the ending plan worked very well, even though my time zone didn't get to vote, I thought the East Coasters made the right choice with the boss. Lastly, I thoroughly enjoyed Kono and Sang Min - good characterization for both of them, and a great way to get him back on the Island! A solid, enjoyable episode.

I liked the idea of a "Clue"-like ending though I didn't vote myself--I didn't know that each time zone could have their own ending and figured that voting on the west coast would close since the east coast would see the show first. Even so, not a bad idea once a season.
Anyway, a couple of details I found kinda funny (apart from Matthew Lawrence who did a pretty job um...growing up *nomnomnom*):
1. The sorority sister who thought her Vespa could outrun Danny and Steve in their car. And she's in college?
2. I know it shouldn't be a factor, but I wonder how Johns Hopkins feels about a candidate who did undergraduate work on Oahu.
3. No Max? No what's-her-name (Steve's "girlfriend")?

Good news on the ratings. H50 won the time slot with 9.4 million viewers to 9.1 for Castle and 4.2 for NBC's new show Deception which looks to be DOA. H50 also led in the critical 18-49 demo. CBS's 2 hour comedy block is also now winning their time slots against The Bachelor and The Biggest Loser something they did not do in the fall against The Voice and Dancing With the Stars.

I love this show for a lot of reasons-the locale, the cast and usually the writing. Last night's episode was no exception though I did not feel like getting caught up in voting for the "villain," choosing instead to pay attention to the show and one of the better episodes. Sometimes the "banter" between Danny and Steve can get a little tiresome, though I enjoy it in small doses. Kono is one hot and tough cop to round out the talented quartet we enjoy each week and I particularly liked all her work with Sang Min last night, a much better villain all-round than the troublesome Wo Fat. Andrew Lawrence could not have been more perfect as someone related to the wise-cracking Danny and it was clear that Central Casting had done their home work. Hope we see him again! No problem with the ending gimmick but I don't see that being a staple on prime time television...but let's keep this show going for the many positive reasons we all enjoy it!

I liked the episode it was fun to watch. Danny and his nephew were funny I liked when his nephew sent the photo of Danny Chin got email was funny and everybody got who was on Danny's email. I also like when the guy throw away the can and he had and Eric took the can out was good. and Badger was funny. it was nice seeing Sang Min that was teaching with him and Kono at the end. am glad the boss won in the East coast where I am he looked more like a bad guy. I like the vote episode it be fun once a year. I also hope we see more of Danny's Nephew maybe like how they have Steve's sister Guest spots.
My mistake! I must be half asleep this morning! I voted for the dean or whatever his job was. He was the one chosen for the central coast airing.

I have enjoyed the new Hawaii 5-0 since its inception. We watched every episode of the original show, and this one always captures my interest. I really enjoyed last night's episode too, and I voted around 10:30 last night. I feel like I chose the 'Boss' because of what I saw in his eyes... not sure how to explain, but when he spoke of "firing" the victim, the look in his eyes just hit me for whatever reason. Keep up the good work!

Yes! It felt like a game of Clue if anybody ever even plays that anymore. I think it turned out to be a fun thing for a once in a blue moon type of thing. I wonder if other shows will give this try now. The episode went really quick for me, which I think is good thing, and I was entertained through all of it. I want to watch again today because I was so focussed on the case we voted on I didn't pay much attention to the rest of it. I liked the Steve McGarrett tackle at the end though and his visit to the little boy. The two sides of McGarrett. That is why we love him.
I love this episode. I voted for the professor as he seemed like the most likley killer! I loved E Train. Andrew Lawerence was super funny! There were many great moments but my favorite was when Eric tok the can out of the garbage and it had cheat notes on there and the moment with Steve and him was super funny!
Sing Min is a hoot! I have to admit I thought he escaped for good and I was upset that Kono would just leave the hotel room when she was there to watch and protect him before the trial. However it was a sweet moment between them when she found him and his ex wifes house. I liked there scenes, she can put him in his place but still understand when he was sad at seeing his wife remarried.
Alex keeps looking better and better!

I feared this epi, but turns out it was enjoyable as always. The procedural was there, the comedy was there with even a little extra nephew and Badger thrown in, and yeah, the Sang Min subplot was a heartbreaker. So was the little kid sick in the hospital. Is the disease they talked about a real disease? Anyone have a clue? And I even voted, for the professor, because he seemed to be a real jerk about sexual harassment.

I voted for the boss, and I'm on the west coast, where the student was the ending. I haven't looked at the other endings as yet, but will. I think it was kind of fun to do this. I don't want it every week, but once a season would not be bad.
As for the episode, I liked it. I too was happy to see Sang Min back, and he did show some human traits before regarding his wife and son. I believe it was in season one, when they let him out briefly, then they took him to see his son at either a school or park, where he watched from the car. Loved the ending of that part, I know he is one of the bad guys, but I do feel for him. Kono got to handle things all by herself.
Loved the nephew, who was Danny's sister's son as Mrs. Cleaver said. I hope he comes around again some time. I would love to see the rest of Danny's East Coast family at some point. I'm enjoying this season very much.

We did not get a vote in Hawaii! The chosen killer was the student who bought the answers. I enjoyed the multiple aspects of the episode, especially the focus on Ni'ihau which is very isolated.
@walter: They don't often have more than one helicopter for a production. They use the same helicopter for Kamekona's business but just put stickers on the side. You might have also noticed the jeep they used towards the end was the one from the north korean episode (2.10) last season.

I thought they did a good job with the viewer choice scenario. I enjoyed the subplot with Danny's nephew. Is he the son of Danny's brother Matt the Wall Street thief from season 1 or another Williams sibling? I don't understand the Sang Min story. He's an inmate in a maximum security prison on the mainland and they put him up in a luxury hotel in Hawaii? It looks like Kamekona's helicopter business is kaput. The helicopter he bought is the same one Steve and Chin used (Eurocopter EC135 N6077H)
I really enjoyed this ep, even though I couldn't partake because I live in Australia and wasn't seeing it real time. Danny's nephew was great, I would really enjoy seeing him in future episodes. His help in the case and smart thinking about the can was what I also thought initially when he threw it in the bin, so it was fun to play along with his character. The Kono/Sang Min subplot seemed a little pointless at first but the emotional end to Min's escape was worth the rest of it. For an episode that took on such a bold move in the industry, I was pleasantly surprised to see they still pulled off a solid episode around the 'vote for the killer' alternate endings. I would say it was a success :)
